First real condo but I did post a more general one previously : Previous posting

Anyway today I started him at the zero line which is about 2 drops on these BD syringes. And I will watch closely since last time I gave him 0.25IU he had a hypo.

I am watching him like a hawk. Last time he started at 320 and by +5 he was at 16. That was only on 0.25IU. I have the syrup at the ready.

I hope not because then the only dose I have under that is one drop .... and then less than that is sniffing the bottle ;)

+3 and he's 95. Looks like he is going to go down too low.@##@!!. Time to start measuring more often.

BaileyBigEyes - whoa! You can't take away KT's and Pumbaa's diving crown so please quit trying! That jump you just did was a bit steep wasn't it?

Baileys first condo and looks like you may be in for some excitement already! I hope his numbers level out for you before overload of drama.
Doses so small its just to sniffing the bottle, that would make some unusual aromatherapy :lol:

When you get a chance suggest you add Bailey's spreadsheet and profile to in your signature.

Is anyone going to be around at 7pm EST? I am thinking ahead here what I do for next dose and want to be prepared if he is green/low. Do I still shoot? I will be measuring all night but want to avoid another hypo.

Ok got an hour till his shot.. He's in blue and will be blue or maybe yellow by tonites shot. Looks like I won't be getting much sleep so that I can watch him..

Bailey is doing great on that little dose. You might want to post his +11 with a Dose Question? in your subject line when you get to it.

Really I dont have a question. I think I need to be consistent and give him the same dose as this morning I am just paranoid and looking for moral support!!!

Support I can do. :-D :YMHUG: It was a very nice cycle today for Bailey and maybe he'll show you the same again tonight. You did a great job gathering data on him.

What is the % carbs you're feeding Bailey? You may need to think about feeding something that's a bit higher in carbs. If Tiggy isn't too carb sensitive, you could feed them the same food. It looks like they get Wellness. That's about 4%. If you upped the carbs to 7%, see what that does for Bailey.

He is dead on 200 so gave him the 2 drops.

We are feeding Wellness beef and chicken,chicken and turkey so yep 4-5%. Not sure how carb sensitive Tiggy is so probably could up the carbs. Although I am not sure if it will make a huge difference since I am starting to transfer my data into the new coloured SS format this forum prefers and I can see bailey was still bouncing when he was getting 1/3 can of Natural Balance venison and green pea which was 40% carbs. I am hoping to have the SS updated by end tonite so let me know what u think.

Ok so I updated Baileys SS with all his history.... check it out Bailey SS - you can see all his data in the "pre dental" tab but remember most of it was with my old Freestyle meter too.

Its interesting looking at the results:

When we first got him he was bouncing like crazy - greens and pinks. That could have been the Freestyle meter I was using, or his ear infection or his bad teeth or the fact he was diabetic for 6-8 months untreated before we got him.

However by July he seemed to really stabilize on the 0.5IU and I was using the new meter and you can see the blues and greens .... and very few yellows or pinks. So in August we moved him down to 0.25IU. And that was ok but we were still getting a lot of low greens so we did the dental to try and clear up any remaining infection - and there was a lot - he had 14 teeth out - everything except his 4 canines.

We waited a week after the dental and tried to take him off insulin - didnt work. Tried putting him back on 0.25IU.. he had a hypo. Took him off again. And then here we are - I started him this morning on 2 drops.
