Zener's condo 9/11/11

We woke up this morning to quite a thunderstorm with hail that scared poor Zener into his hall closet hiding place. It sounded like rocks on the windows and was just about golf ball size. If there had been room in the hall closet for Liz and I, we would have been in there too! All quiet now and Zener having 2nd breffis, this one in bed.

Always interesting to spin the BG roulette wheel! Ended yesterday on a blue note, then up to yellow and into pink during the night. Starting off pink this morning. Wonder if it is another bounce, maybe NDW, full moon, or he's just a cat?

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Good morning!! Zener and Tarragon are buddies in the AMPS department today. I wonder if it has to do with the storm for Zener. Tarragon is a scaredy cat when it comes to thunder and lightning and his BGs always go way up during a storm.

Hope Zener comes down for you today and you both have a wonderful Monday!!

Re: 9/12/11 Zener AMPS 350 A Trak

Aww, poor Zener. Their lil ears are so sensitive anyway. Maybe part of the AMPS is stress. Hope Zener comes down. That sounds scary with that size hailstones! I hope the weather calms down, and Zener's numbers come down, too.

Thanks Melissa and Ann! We got Zener's AMPS right before the storm, so maybe he knew it was coming! He must be reading his condo this morning and is following your encouragements.

Fortunately, the storm didn't negatively affect Zener's fragile appetite this morning. I will come home for lunch to get a reading mid-cycle. We have paws crossed for numbers as blue as our sky post-storm! ;-)

Hi guys .. sorry to hear such a storm rolled in .. poor zener, at least he has a safe place to go into though .. I like how he's already coming down at +2, might just hit yellows and blues before you know it .. have a great day!

Thanks Devon, Zener is listening to you all and coming down nicely. I made it home for lunch and a mid-cycle check just in time for another storm, only no hail this time! Kitties were napping and didn't twitch a whisker at the rain. We are happy to get the rain since it has been so dry, could do without the hail. It is really feeling like autumn here at 7,000 feet! :-D

Zener's appetite is doing much better lately. Had a little fluke where one day he would eat lower carbs, but no go right now. We are managing to stay relatively consistent in the 10-11% range. He maintained his weight last week at just under 13lbs so we are grateful he is eating without appetite stimulant and holding his weight.

Come on down Zener!!! Oh these roller coaster kitties!!

We woke up to a storm, too, and it is nice and cool here. AC is off and the house is wide open with a fab breeze!!! YAY!!

Have a great day.

Thanks Marje, I'll pass along your message to Zener to get off the roller coaster. He may mind you better than us! ;-)
Glad you are cooling off in Tucson!

Thank goodness we survived busy Monday and even managed to get home for mid-cycle check and PM check before shot time. Mondays and Wednesdays will do us in this semester! Zener has had a pretty good day, even though he prefers his beans being present at all times!

Looks kind of flat today, perhaps a bounce from yesterday's blues? Zener sure acted hungry tonight but wasn't all that interested in what was on his menu. We'll see if he is more interested @+1 and if not, we will start the "open all the cans and see what he will eat" game.

We are keeping paws crossed that Zener does not follow in Gabby's paw-steps and become a cliff diver! The trampoline is already too much excitement for us!

Well, Zener's appetite kicked in, so no "open all the cans" game tonight! :-D

It seems to help when we don't feed our civvie, Tillie, the Queen of Everything, at the same time as we feed Zener. She will sit near him and watch his every bite, motivating him to eat his food so she won't. Zener goes for his 3rd acupuncture treatment tomorrow for assisting his appetite.

We are having an unusual weather pattern of several days (oddly evenings and early mornings) of thunderstorms and even a tornado or two in northern Arizona, VERY strange weather. Our hailstorm that scared Zener in the hall closet this morning measured 3" deep of 1" diameter hail! The kitties are very disappointed to miss out on their early evening prowling of the backyard, but no one wants wet paddy paws.
