Yesterday's Condo

Willie is back up where he was yesterday, but appears to be coming back down nicely. He was out and about looking for mice much of the night, but I got lovely btb cuddles this morning. He's now trying to convince me to skip softball practice for another round this morning, but alas, I need the practice!! Gotta get myself out of bed!! Yesterday, I ended up doing some shopping and watching football. Nothing too exciting! Gotta decide what, if anything to do about the bedbug situation with my sister. One of the only ways to detect them early is by bringing in a bug sniffing dog (adorable beagle named Patches) that isn't cheap. My sister's clothes went straight from my car to the basement where they were washed and then dried on high before they were brought upstairs. I may go down and clean the area where she had the clothes. I feel bad for her... infestations are very difficult to get rid of, especially in apartments. When she moves eventually, she'll need to probably get rid of most of the furniture (which was actually quite nice), and may have to heat treat all her remaining stuff, which isn't especially cheap. Bed bugs infestations can't be eradicated with any chemical... you have to heat everything for several hours to a temp between 125 and 135 (above that will destroy electronics, and you need to treat the electronics as bedbugs get inside them). Blah.

Special welcome back to Celi and Binks. Bummer that you've moved back in, but happy to have you here, and hoping your visit is a short one!!

Binks is over in the corner chanting frantically "DON"T let the bedbugs bite!!"

we've never had the dubious pleasure, but have read a lot lately about them...and can only say "EEWWWWW!"

Hope you solve the bb dilemma .....I was just reading an article about that in our paper today. They are tough to get rid of so hope you don't see them.

It appears that Mr. Mouse didn't escape the garage like I'd hoped the other night. Ran to the store to get liver for Willie's food. Came home to him chasing a mouse around the living and dining room. Poor mouse seemed dazed, confused, and wet. It was like a slow speed chase... Like one I remember in Miami where like 50 police cars chased this hijacked postal truck around the city at 35 mph for like 3 hours (what can I say? At the time, watching it live on TV was a nice diversion from studying!). Caught the mouse in a dixie cup and put a large magnet (the closest flat object that was large enough) and got him outside, where he hid under the leaves along the fence. After watching the poor, scared guy for a bit, I pushed him through the fence into the neighbor's yard. I SERIOUSLY hope that he doesn't come back.

Willie apparently missed the part about me catching Mr. Mouse and continued looking for him in the living room for a good hour. I love that boy. I really do.

What?!?!?!? De mouse is gone???? Oh well, at least de bean made new fuds. U guyz know what dat means!! Fresh slider mix for de partee tomorrow!!! Can't wait! --Willie

Oh that's horrible with the bb situation in your sister's apartment. Is the Manager of her apartments going to help with the spraying or getting rid of the infestation? Willie sure did come down nice, and Mags went up today. Hope you enjoyed your game today. I think that mouse is there to stay for a while.

Oh geez Christie, sorry to hear about the bedbug situation. Does your sisters apt have them for sure? Is it just me or have bedbugs become quite a regular occurance in the news lately?

Maybe Willie and Mr. Mouse can just live in harmony together. "Ebony and Ivory, live together in perfect harmony....." :lol: :lol: He obviously likes playing with that poor mouse, i'm surprised Mr.Mouse didn't die of shock!!

Willie is acting a bit anti-social tonight, and I'm little concerned because I found some liquipoo in the basement. I can't tell if he's wanting to be in the dining room because he's on mousewatch or because he's not feeling well. Generally, if he's not okay, his numbers reflect it, and thus far, it has been a good cycle. Will be keeping a close eye on him over the next day or so.

Made another pressure cooker dish tonight... a yummy lentil stew with lots of veggies. Cheap, filling, tasty and good for me. Exactly what I need! I'm thinking I'll be using the pressure cooker ALOT this winter!! You can just make things so quickly. No excuse not to cook!!
