We just came back from Mo's checkup. I nearly missed it because I'm still exhausted after coming off night shifts and slept through my alarm :banghead: Thankfully I woke up with 13 minutes to spare and the vet is about 4 minutes away so we made it 2 minutes late.

The this was a different vet than last week. To coax him out of his cage, she put some random wet food with gravy down and he ate it o_O ugghhhh. Oh well. She wasn't going to take his temperature but I asked her to. It's normal now, yay!! She went to get the other vet that was seeing him (thankfully) and she was pleased with how well he is doing. She also said she was going to tell the other vet how well Mo is doing because they all really love him down there. He is such a sweetie. They did say that food doesn't usually affect the cat's pancreas, it's more of a dog thing, so as long as he is on a high quality diet he should be fine! He has really taken to Ziwipeak so I think for breakfast and dinner Ziwipeak will be his main meals and his "snacks" throughout the day will be FF. They gave him another shot of antibiotics. I did ask if they think he is in pain and they didn't believe he was showing any signs of pain. When she touched his tummy he didn't flinch, he wasn't acting sad or anything. He is being completely normal now. I'm hoping they're right and he isn't in pain. By the sounds of it his pancreatitis must have been pretty mild for him to have recovered so soon. I will definitely be keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't show any signs of illness again.

His BG are still in the low to mid 300s which is great! I'm happy to see him no longer in the red, that's for sure. Hopefully in the next day or so we start to see some yellows again :)

P.S. Mo didn't help me write this post like he did yesterday's one. Maybe he found it too much hard work :p

Great report. Max didn’t always need pain medication either. He did well with ondansetron and occasionally a few doses of cyproheptadine to get him eating. The trick with him was to start ondansetron at the first sign of inappetence starting and to feed small meals more often. My internist also felt diet did not effect pancreatitis as does most literature on the subject. If a cat also has IBD diet matters.

That's great :) Mo is very food driven so if he loses his appetite we know something is wrong. So any sign that he doesn't want to eat we will take him straight to the vet. I'm glad your internist agrees re the food!

What did your vet give you for nausea? I always had ondansetron on hand so I could start treatment right away. Max was very sensitive and a vet trip was enough to cause a flare. It sounds like Mo doesn’t have that problem.

We have Cerenia at home, so we can give him that if he starts to seem unwell. Mo is very used to our vet trips now. He doesn't scream the whole way in the car anymore, just sits there thinking "oh here we go again" lol.
