Morning ~O) ~O) need some strong ones today! All is well with Maggie, but "meh" (one of Amy's terms) on her AMPS. Four P's, and no poo today, but a nice healthy one yesterday! Strange with the yellos start, as Maggie dipped at the pm +3. I don't know what she did thru the night, but Mags does free feed at night. The dish is removed two hours before the am pre-shot though! . I am fortunate that she will eat when low as I can't get up at the +6, or I'd be a zombie all day and make mistakes. I'm thinking her numbers are a little wonky, and it could be my vial. My vial had a 4 months' use birthday yesterday, so maybe it's time for a refill. I was hoping to get another month from it, but I did have the Pop bottle knock the vial on its side not too long ago. My throat is better, but I'm feeling a little stuffy in the nasal, and my eyes are glassy. I hope my neighbors don't think I've been partying it up or something. Wish I had that excuse! I think I can fight it though. Yesterday I had a really good fruit smoothie from Picasso, one of my fav stopping and take out places, really good coffee, too. Healing vines to Rocket & Claudia and all kitties needing them.

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224

~O) ~O) ~O) Here ya go! I have my ~O) IV in and am trying to wake up. I have the same stuffy nose, sore throat, bleh feeling. I've been on AB's for 5 days for sinus infection but I think it is now an official cold.

Not a terrible start for Maggie. I'm really glad she is pooing more often. Every other day is not bad. My two are pooing a ton these days. I wish they would go to every other day. I need to buy more air fresheners at lunch again. Grrrr.

I can't believe you get that long out of a vial! We treated ours with kid gloves with it's own little "nest" in the fridge and still never got more than 2 months out of it. I really like the pens. I can actually use all the insulin in it before I throw it away.

Have a great day Ann!

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) I will add to what Melissa ha already delivered, that ~O) should hold you for a while. :-D

wow on the amps, a little high for Maggie, but not too bad. . maybe it is the insulin? i dunno.... been thinking along the same lines with Mannie, as his numbers have been a little "higher" than what I would expect/hope for, maybe I need to start new juice too. ;-) It is nice though that you can get that amount of time out of a vial - wow, and impressive. I am pen user, like them alot, but there are times when I think the juice is toast after a little over a month.

Wonderful that you are getting the poo thing every two days now . YAY!! Mannie is an every other day'er too. It seems like you have Maggie under control, and have found the right mix of meds. Good job Maggie on the prezzies!

I hope you feel better soon Ann. Keep on truckin'!

Well, nice surprise and dip to mid blue! :-D

Thanks Melissa on the ~O) ~O) Yes, I'm satisfied with the every other day poo. I hope eventually to get her on a daily, but we'll take it day by day. I'm sorry you also have the cold. I know a lot take Airborne, but it does a number on my tummy. Good stuff but doesn't mix well with me.
I have not tried the pens but know a lot here do and really like them. It's hard to teach an old dog ne tricks with me and the vial!

Thanks Michelle on the extra ~O) ~O) too! It will really help! I dunno either with her numbers. I know Mannie does the same thing some days! Thanks on Maggie and her schedule of poo. I think the cocktail of meds seems to be helping, and she doesn't look as sick as she did a while back when I thought it was just stubborn constipation.

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154

Sorry about your not feeling too good, Ann. Take care! May be a lot of Vit C may help witht he early flu symptom.
Blue at +3, Maggie? Surf into the green girl!

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154

Regarding vials versus pens. Here in my area, the vials run $120 for 10ml and the pens run $49 for 3ml. I went with the pen. Per ml the pens cost more, but I'll have less to toss when it ages. (My area will also sell me one pen at a time. They come 5 to a box.) I also understand since the pens don't have air put into them they last longer than vials. Don't know that from experience though since we just started. If they do last longer...Bonus!

And Poop says, "Hi Maggiepoo, darlin. Looooookin good!"

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154

Thanks Helen for the tip on the Vit. C. I have these really good chewable Vit. C tablets from Trader Joe's and have a great taste. Yes, let's hope she slides into green. Her appy is really good.

Thanks Teresa on your experience with the pens. Some really good points, especially with the less air and also no waste. I'll have to tell my Vet about them.
Maggie says "hi" back to her cutsie Poopsie!

Thanks Michelle on the +3! Hopeing for a slide into low blue!

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154

Hi guys .. well with that nice dip at +3 I wonder if your vial is still ok? I can't imagine getting 4 months out of a pen .. we'd toss ours around the 30 day mark .. Glad to hear your throat is feeling better, I hope the nasal/eye problems clear up soon .. hope you guys have a great day!

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154

Good Morning Ann

What a nice drop to blue for Maggie this morning. It does look like the juice is still good, huh?

I hear ya on not testing during the night..I can't do it either, without zoning out and being sick to my stomach all next day.

Have a wonderful day today Ann :-D

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154

That's better, Maggie. It could be the vial, the L just doesn't see to be lasting as long for her, but she comes down nicely.

Have you tried Zycam tablets? It helps a lot when you first feel a cold coming on.

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154

Morning. ~O)
didn't know we had a sinus infection club going on. Me too. At least 3x a year.
My dh remarked that I've had a sinus infection since he met me, 22 years ago.
I hadn't thought about it that way.

Good that Maggie is starting an every other day cycle.
Hope she slides down and does more during the cycle.

Re: 9/11 Maggie AMPS 224; +3 154; +6 168

+6 168
Not too bad, about the same number!

Thanks Devon for always checking on Maggie. So nice we could all wish Devon a Happy Birthday today. I think probably 4 months is enough for my vial, even though she looks semi good today.

Hi Barb & Checkers, I think we're the same with the pm +6. Once in a while I cam manage a pm +6 but only if I've had too much coffee and can't sleep.

Ann & Tess, have not tried the Zicam but have heard good things about it. I haven't taken anything yet except chewable Vit. C's, so I'll take a look at them. There used to b e something else very popular for catching a cold. It was a spray and controversial, but I can't for the life of me think of its name.

Rhiannon, on the sinus infection club going on  It does seem so this time of year. Thanks on Maggie going every other day. I hope she slides down. She really has some appy going on in the mornings. When it comes to +10 is so hard, as she still wants a snack.

Nice slide into blue for Maggie today. Last month I had to get another vial for Furball. She was having some iffy numbers and I wasn't sure if it was the vial or she just needed a dose increase. I had the vial for 5 months. After I got the new vial, Furball's numbers came down. I had dropped the vial right around the time her nunbers started getting iffy. I don't know if I could have used it longer or not. I don't know if I can get pens in my area and what the cost is, but the vials are expensive ($139.00). I was trying to get as much as I could out of one, but I didn't want to hurt Furball so finally got a new vial. I'm glad I did.

Hi Carla, five months is very good for the vial. I just ordered a refill tonight, as I'm not so sure some of Maggie's numbers the past two days may be wonky because of the vial. You've gone one month beyond me!
Now watch me get the vial, and Maggie will still be up and down! Oh well, she's a cat, and they sure do like to keep us guessing. Maggie didn't do too bad today and managed to stay blue except for the yellow AMPS.

Miss Maggie...what's up with those "meh" numbers  ?!?!

Glad to hear she's feeling good...4 months from one vial is awesome! I've never tried to push it that far...we used vials for the first two months, then switched to pens. Sometimes I'm tempted to go back and give a vial another whirl, although not right now, with Trix running all over the map.

I hope you're feeling better this evening, Ann!

Had a pen last once for 40 days thats was the longest I ever got!! If you are getting longer that is wonderful...Looks like Maggie has some very nice numbers today!! Now all you need is some good poo--
Hope tonite will be better-Hugs & Love from us!

Wow on the 4 month insulin birthday! I always liked using the vials much better, it just seems way easier to draw insulin from a vial than a pen.

Work that juice Mags and keep on poopin'!!!
