HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY MOCHA JO LATTE!!!​


Hi guys!! Well today is mocha's 9th birthday and so far she is having a great day .. peter gave her "beauties" (to those who don't know, mocha LOVES q tips, and loves when we give her beauties by rubbing them all over her face) and she had some zoom zooms throughout the house .. she got a new baby .. some kind of flat soft toy looking thing that civvie twix has already taken too .. mocha doesn't mind .. she doesn't have time to mess with babies when she could be causing trouble instead :-D

She also recently hit her 1 1/2 OTJ year mark on the 8th .. I thought I'd do one condo to wrap it all up in .. She's doing awesome, throwing us greens each time we test .. Some of you newbies on here may not know that mocha was actually on insulin for 24 months! 2 months on Vetsulin before making the switch to lantus, and another 22 months here in LL .. She was NEVER an easy cat to regulate, always bouncing, always causing us frustrations and lots of tears .. but then one day she decided she didn't want to be diabetic anymore and she got her act together .. FINALLY! :lol: She came down the dosing ladder rather quickly (as everyone kept telling us she would when it did happen) and cruised through her OTJ trial without a glitch ..

This weekend I'm heading up North for a "girls weekend" with my mom/sister/aunt/cousin .. something we've been doing for quite a few years now, but the last few trips have only been day trips, due to mocha and her insulin needs .. So the girls will be relying upon peter for feedings and affection .. I'm nailbite_smile because I'm the one who is at home with these girls each day every day while peter is at work but I am sure it will all work out .. or Im sure I'll here about it when I get back .. probably from all three :lol: :lol:

well bummer .. I had a pic of mocha this morning with her meter showing off a nice 74 but it's to big to upload! Will have to have peter reduce it for me ..
 


What a lovely, happy condo!! Congratulations on your OTJ milestone, too - you guys are *such* a fabulous example of how good things can come to those who wait :lol: Good story to tell newbies getting frustrated, too!

How sweet that she got her beauties today and a new toy too! It is always so nice to see a Mocha condo. Unbelievable that it has been 1 1/2 years. Congratulations to all of you! That is a huge accomplishment and sounds like she is doing great.

Have fun on your trip. Try to enjoy yourself and relax. Whenever I get home from leaving the "kids" with DH, I hear all about it. In fact, with cell phones now, I get text and picture updates hourly just so I know what I am missing. :lol:

And Happy 1.5 years too. I can't believe that it has been so long... Seems just like yesterday: the rapid descent into being an OTJ kitty. What a wild ride back then. Enjoy this milestone too. Well done Mocha.

Enjoy your girls weekend away. How wonderful that you can go and spend more than just one day. Enjoy that aspect as well. I am sure Peter will do just fine. :-D :-D I am so looking forward to the pic!

Devon, so happy to hear the good report on your sweet girl. It gives the rest of us hope. I love her beauty routine. Have a great "girls weekend" as you sure do deserve it. I remember all those days Mocha was so close to OTJ and then the big day!

Hi Devon & Happy Birthday to Mocha! That's a great story about how she was on insulin for 2 years and very inspiring. Thanks for sharing it! It gives even us oldtimers some hope. :lol:

Mocha sounds like she had a great birthday with wonderful presents. I hope your trip is lots of fun and am sure Peter will do just fine with the girls. Just think, he won't even have to worry about insulin!

Have to run & give Racci her insulin, speaking of insulin, but have a great day!

Oops, we're a little late but happy birthday to Mocha. Vyktor says Mocha should get to celebrate all over again today since he's only just passing on his well wishes now (Vyktor is such a cat he has a very overinflated sense of self!)
