good morning LL! :-D

it's been such a long time since i've posted an update on alex. she's been doing great!
we managed to head another flare off at the pass by increasing the dose, giving fluids and pepcid ac. am almost afraid to post the WCR for fear of jinxing anything. this past week she has acted like she was a kitten. haven't seen so much playing and running around from her in a long time. there's a window ledge about a foot and a half above the top of a six foot cat tree in the corner. much to my chagrin, she's been sitting up in the window ledge causing her momma bean's heart to skip a beat! she seems pretty proud of herself!

i suspect she's done with this dose with a drop from 95 @ +9.4 to 51 @ amps. we'll see how the day goes. i may try a sneakcrease a tonight.
shhhh, don't tell her!

hugs to all! have a wonderful caturday!

Re: 09/11 ~ Alex ~ Oldtimer's Caturday Report ~ AMPS 51

good luck with that, jill! and thanks for the guidance for Binks' bean.

As much as I hate that gasp when the kitties do something I consider dangerous/outrageous, I love the fact that they are feeling good enough to do it. It's great to hear that Alex is back in the "I feel good" club.

Re: 09/11 ~ Alex ~ Oldtimer's Caturday Report ~ AMPS 51

What a wonderful WCR Jill and so happy to see you open a condo for Alex  playing like a kitten always like to see that you know they are feeling good I think whenever they play like this :-D

Re: 09/11 ~ Alex ~ Oldtimer's Caturday Report ~ AMPS 51

What a great report for Alex...so glad that she is acting so kittenish and feeling great.... but the windowsill Alex? nailbite_smile
And Mum's the word...we won't tell her about the you-know-what...

Re: 09/11 ~ Alex ~ Oldtimer's Caturday Report ~ AMPS 51

how great it is to read an Alex report, and a wonderful one too! I too love the fact that she is feeling good enough to do kitten type things - fantastic! Keep on truckin' there Alex! Have a great one today, and many thanks from this bean for all your guidance over the course of Mannie's journey.

Re: 09/11 ~ Alex ~ Oldtimer's Caturday Report ~ AMPS 51

That's a great WCR! (knock on wood)
I am so glad you took today to let us know how well she is doing. I am so happy to hear it :-D :-D :-D
Thank you. And thank you for stopping in my condo this morning, when I needed it. big smile

It is so nice to see you Jill and Alex and even better to read how well Alex is doing.

I hope you get that building or something too. ;-)

Re: 09/11 ~ Alex ~ Oldtimer's Caturday Report ~ AMPS 51

Oh boy! Now this report sure makes my heart sing! I know how sick Alex had been earlier this year and to hear how well she's doing is so wonderful. I mean 'kitten' playfulness? Can't get much better than that!

We know how hard you worked to get her to this point... sleeping on the floor and so much intensive nursing care (not to forget all the worry), that to see her play again is just awesome.

Re: 09/11 ~ Alex ~ Oldtimer's Caturday Report ~ AMPS 51

A lovely caturday report

I love them as it's a real walk down memory lane and to be able to see how kitty's and momma beans are doing.

As for the ledge, that just Alex letting you know she's still got it in her!

Re: 09/11 Alex ~ Oldtimer ~ AMPS 51; +5.5 67; +6.5 73; +7.5 59

blech! aaaaaaaaaaaaaand we have pukus at +7! guess i shouldn't have posted how well alex has been doing.
i knew something was up when miss piggy wasn't interested in eating much at +5.5.
this could be fun considering she's not interested in eating anything and often continues to drop over the next couple of hours of the cycle...

Re: 09/11 Alex ~ Oldtimer ~ AMPS 51; +5.5 67; +6.5 73; +7.5 59

Alex, come on honey, don't do this to your momma bean

Nice to see an Alex condo. Sending no pukus and eating vines to her.

Re: 09/11 Alex ~ Oldtimer ~ AMPS 51; +5.5 67; +6.5 73; +7.5 59

Alex, mamabean reported HAPPY Caturday, not pukus Caturday!!

I hope it's just a little blip. You've done an amazing job with her, Jill. I'm sending some settled-tummy vines to you across town.

Re: 09/11 Alex ~ Oldtimer ~ AMPS 51; +5.5 67; +6.5 73; +7.5 59

What a nice WCR initially. Hope the digestive problem recently posted is just a "bump in the road". Feel better Alex. I too hate it when they turn into daredevils. Must admit it gets our attention.

Re: 9/11 Alex AMPS 51; +5.5 67; +6.5 73; +7.5 59; +8 46

:YMHUG:
Thinking of you two and hoping she will take something...baby food? cream cheese? yogurt?

Re: 9/11 Alex AMPS 51; +5.5 67; +6.5 73; +7.5 59; +8 46

syringed 1ml 18% hc gravy. she then ate about a half teaspoon of lc. we don't usually use hc at all since she's so carb sensitive. this ought to pull her numbers up but good! lol!

the only "people" food she like is cheetos and cheeze-it crackers. i'm not sure they would bring her numbers up fast enough.
re-testing in a few...

Re: 9/11 Alex AMPS 51;+5.5 67;+6.5 73;+7.5 59;+8 46;+8.5 78

+8.5 78
the hc gravy to the rescue.
fingers crossed she keeps it down...

around these parts, we always say "what's a day without a little pukus"? It's like a day without ...well without testing and insulin, air and water, it's like a day without sunshine". What's a little pukus, anyway? It doesn't necessarily mean a thing! Not in MY house, anyway

It's great to see Alex doing so well and with her own condo today. I have lots of unjinx karma..I'll send some over! Keep up the good work Alex!

(Sorry I didn't chime in sooner but I had a 4 hour dental appointment and barely could do anything less than moan until just now)

PMPS 82 - sneakcrease - shaved dose to 1.4u

no more pukus! miss piggy is back! alex dove into her dinner with enthusiasm. :-D
we had a quiet afternoon. hope tonight remains uneventful!

have a nice evening everyone!

I'm glad to hear the piggy is back. Lucy approves of piggy kitties. Good luck with the sneakcrease!

Alex is a great example of how doses can change when something is going on with the whole cat.

So nice to hear about Alex, thanks Jill. You're so busy always helping all of us, it's nice to see a condo for Alex. Glad she is feeling better.

Nice green SS over the last month. I hope Alex continues to be so well regulated - who knows - maybe you'll be able to cont to sneakcrease and get her back to the falls.

wouldn't that be nice!
i'll never give up hope, but realistically, it's unlikely.
although, i will try to keep her as tightly regulated as i can because she does seem to feel a whole lot better when her numbers are in the normal range.

was first going to write nice WCR.... :-D

and then saw pukus further down

..... and then recovering. :-D

so just a little blip in the day for sweet Alex. cat_pet_icon

at least there was no pukus from the ledge

guess i am in a smiley mode this wee hour punchy mode  but i guess you figured that out

Yep, that was an exciting day yesterday! Glad to hear that the appetite is back and that Alex is doing so well. Hope you both have a grand day today. And thank you so much, Jill, for checking in on Stu. It is very much appreciated.

Ella & Stu

very glad to hear about Alex. I had never looked at her SS before - all those greens - impressive.

You are very kind, Jill. I was really at a low point and your words of support meant a great deal to me. Thanks so much.

I'm so glad that Alex is doing so well. I guess you'll know better next time to tell anyone though, since she turned around and pukus just to show you. I'm also glad she got over the pukus so quickly. And I hve to thank you for helping us, Jill. You're usually there when we need you. :-D
