9/9 Shasta

Hello Tuesday. Please be better than Monday.

WCR: All Ps in place. Appy is iffy/ok. Still trying to figure out what's going on with her. I've noticed for the past few weeks that she's been sitting a tad bit lopsided, but again...am I looking for something or did I actually notice a 'clue'?! :YMSIGH:

Headed off to a department chair meeting. sending prayers of comfort to Jill & Lona and Barb. Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Morning Deborah ~O) ~O) ~O)

GO Shasta! It's good to see you decided to exit the pink floor. Yellows are better!

Elsa will sit lopsided sometime too, with one leg out farther than the other. No explanation there either, from me, or the vet. We thought it was an anal gland issue, had them expressed, but she still sits that way. Must feel better for whatever reason... none of which any of us can figure out.

Hope your meeting went ok. Have a good day today!

I hope Shasta's appy gets better and she kept sliding down today. Maybe her sitting lopsided is she's just being a cat and doing something different.

Re: 9/10 Shasta PMPS=249 +2=239

Wonder if it's related to her clicking previously. ( I am remembering right, aren't I ? )

I know how difficult it is to get Shasta any vet interactions but I seem to remember it's really important with potassium supplements....
something like it should be monitored every two weeks... I'll have to look or ask....

Sending appy vines....

Rhiannon, you are correct...on all points. She did have the clickity clackity when she walked. Haven't heard that in a while. I'd like to think the Cosequin is doing her good.

And yes, the potassium is something that is supposed to be checked once a week or once every other week. This is no excuse, but here goes...the second the school year started...I have been struggling just to keep my head above water. I have emails I haven't answered, my office phone is blinking at me - telling me to check my messages, I prefer the paper cuts over the paperwork...which is killing me, and I haven't made a single phone call since school started because there is no time. Because I saw how this year was starting out, I am not giving Shasta the recommended dosage of Potassium supplement. I couldn't risk giving her too much, so I am giving her a "bare minimum" type of dosage...which is just as dumb, I know. She is supposed to receive 1 full tablet a day...I give her any where between 1/4 to 1/3 tab a day (these don't "split" well...they shatter). I go back and forth with reading the symptoms of low Potassium and high Potassium and wind up feeling as lost as before. They need to create a test like the one for her diabetes that I can just test a tiny drop of blood from her ear. Come on, people...get with it.

haha...my doctor/chiropractor was just asking me about one of these for Shasta! He said, "they're so tiny...surely it wouldn't bother a cat!" I don't know about anyone else's cat...but Shasta would have to walk around with a permanent cone-of-shame on her!

Lovely blues there Shasta - well done! :-D :-D Great to hear she's no longer clicking. Sorry you are getting slammed at work and hope it eases off sometimes soon.

The other thing with the bg monitoring device is the size of the unit that receives the signals and it has to be near the tester. I've seen it suggested as something for dog owners, because they could fit it on the collar of a larger dog. Oh well, maybe for future FD cats.
