Hi Everyone,
We got home in the late morning. Had to pack the car in a succession of thunderstorms, but managed to keep stuff pretty dry. Rusty was nice and high this morning ohmygod_smile , no doubt because he was anticipating the car trip, but also because he may have eaten his nighttime food very close to AMPS (last night he ate most of his dinner just before his bedtime test). Anyway, Rusty was a perfect traveler today: no vomit! The thunderstorms didn't bother him, either. At present he's asleep on his perch.

Came home to the mountain of paperwork I had put off doing when we left. Thanks for visiting us at Camp. Have to do some shopping, so I'll be back later. Just made a vetty appointment for Rusty for tomorrow afternoon: he is "scooting" a lot and needs to have those anal sacs "expressed".

Hope you all are having a good day. Sending healing vines to all kitties who need some,

Ella & Rusty

I'm glad you made it home safely and Rusty traveled well. Sending good vetty vines for tomorrow. I hope Rusty slides down today.

This is one flat cat!!

I made his vetty appointment for tomorrow because I figured that he would still be high from his week at camp and that therefore I would get all the "highs" over with.
We are supposed to have rain until the weekend!

Zener is sending expression vines to Rusty! He has a few left over from his visit this week.  We've been feeding him squash (thanks to Claudia's suggestion) and it's helped a lot. That's great that Rusty didn't puke in the car - woohoo! Hope the BGs start moving down soon.

Ah, I can see Rusty is feeling at home with those nice blues. :-D :-D Sending lots of good vetty vines for tomorrow.

Squash provides some fiber which firms things up, which is supposed to help the anal glands do their thing. I've heard raw food recommended for the same reason.

Aha, Wendy has the answer! I was about to reply to your question on Zener's condo and thought it would be better to put it here in case you didn't get by Zener's condo again tonight.

That is exactly what we read too - pumpkin or squash will help bulk up the stool and this may help clear the anal glands. We used to use pumpkin (Zener had anal glad issues before FD) but stopped when he was diagnosed with FD. Our first vet advised us to do so. We are sure liking using the baby food squash because the jars are so small, we don't have to freeze any and we use up the jar.
