Happy Furday LL!

These wonky numbers really have me wondering whether Muffin's actually getting any insulin with some of these shots. It does seem that each bag of syringes is marked differently, or the plunger lines up differently and although I do a practice pull to see if I'm getting anything, I'm still just not convinced that the 2nd pull is the same as the first. The light on my magnifying glass quit working already - I hope it's just the batteries, but I don't have any more to check. So that's made it harder for sure - will remedy that today.

WCR: Muffin has had the last 2 slices of turkey (have to remedy that today as well) and is in the LB now. Her kibble is soon to be gobbled down and then I'm sure she'll be packing her day bag and running off to Stu's camp.

WBR: I did absolutely nothing productive yesterday that wasn't Muffin-related. Today is PT day for DSiL's father and DSiL's grandmother needs some running around done as well. So this morning will be spent playing taxi driver, and then I can go do my errands.

Hope you all enjoy your day!

Re: 9/10 Muffin amps 159

Muffin's SS looks beautiful to me!! You're doing a great job, especially as Turkey Provider. Good luck with your errands and taxi job. I've got some of those to run today, too. Test strips and cotton balls and lancets, fun stuff. You should get Pat to tell you about how much she loves to go to Walmart... ;-)

117 @ +1 More kibble being consumed UGH! :YMSIGH: But a gal's gotta eat something, right? Will bring more turkey home with me and some turkey canned food.

Thanks Pat and Sarah!

Re: 9/10 Muffin amps 159 +1 117

Have you tried sprinkling chicken dust on the wet food to see if that helps? Chicken dust being the stuff from a Liv A Littles container. Pat, as well as others, has had great success with it. You might need to give Muffin some of the treats first so she recognizes the smell when it's on her food.

Re: 9/10 Muffin amps 159 +1 117

She doesn't like the freeze dried treats, doesn't recognize them as food. I've tried the chicken, salmon, and shrimp so far, but have not actually tried the Liv a Littles brand. I did buy the crunchy chicken treats and the seafood combo treats by them, and she didn't like those either. She has very limited taste

Before Weebie got off the fish, she ate the Salmon Liv a Littles. She won't touch the chicken either. I think it's all about the stink.

pmps 107

Ok this time I'm certain there was something in the syringe, although I'm fairly certain there has been every time. I would think that with the turkey instead of the kibble, her numbers should be lower than this. Maybe the insulin is toast? I've had this vial since July 1. That's just over 2 months, but they told me to roll it when teaching me how to use it, so I did that for probably the first 3 weeks. Maybe I'll call the vet tomorrow about a new one.

Muffin had a nice session of playing with her tail while she awaited dinner. She doesn't seem to like the deli smoked turkey as much as the oscar mayer honey smoked turkey, but she IS eating some of it. Just not wolfing it down like the other.

Re: 9/10 Muffin pmps 107 +2.25 104

104 @ +2.25 Not much of a change, and numbers just seem different last couple of days. Not that they're bad, just different. Think I will get a new vial tomorrow.
