Coming along nicely for the moment.

Still a bit of a tap dance with the canned food--1 tablespoon at a time and a new can must be opened after the second tablespoon. Better than nothing, but a little ridiculous and I can only seem to get her to eat 4 or so tablespoons for the day. That's supplemented with the 1 oz. of duck and the little bit of dry food she still gets at night (she starts tapping her watch about 9 pm). The obsessive part of me wants to worry that she's not getting enough food (or that once I remove the evening dry she definitely won't, but we're not even there yet). I'm trying to talk myself down from it, that after all that poking and shooting I'm not used to leaving her alone for a minute...

On another note--I called the second vet, the one that recommended Glipazide after 1 dose curve on the Lantus (I came here first and never went to pick the Glipazide up), to update them. She called me back and left me a message. She was not even remotely interested in what happened, or what I did to get Weeble to where she is now. It's kind of in keeping with what made me uncomfortable about her approach in the first place, but I thought she'd at least be somewhat curious. It's too bad because in so many ways she's a great vet. Oh, well.

Weeble currently cleaning her ear with a white mitten after her hefty 1 tablespoon meal, so really no complaints here.

Hope all is well with everyone!

HAPPY DAY 2 WEEBLE!!
Will you be able to test again at +4 just to see how the numbers have come down?
Good job...I know it's difficult with the switch to canned....but you are trying and it will happen.

That's too bad that the vet didn't seem interested at all. They do have to know so much about so many issues and most of them don't have a good knowledge of FD. Many people here have shared things with their vets and as a result, the vet has the advantage now of all the knowledge from the people on this board. Some are very open to things that they do not know. Others are not...Oh well...you tried! Good for you for trying to share your good news....sorry it didn't turn out as well as it could have...

We're already at a +7. I figured I'd wait until later since that's when she's lowest and because I'm trying to minimize my hovering, if, for no other reason than to save my own sanity. I seemed oddly panicky yesterday, which I attributed to my sudden lack of Weeble work. My brain does not release its jaws from such things so easily....

This I will finish with the caveat that whatever you all think is best takes priority--be it over my sanity or lack thereof--because, of course, Weeble's health is the ultimate goal. My crazy's not going anywhere anytime soon anyway.

Amanda, I've been feeling the same way - worrying about Muffin's numbers and how much she's eating, or not eating. I think it's the lack of poking being done. Even Muffin seems a little confused as to why the routine has changed. Even when I'm not home, I'm worrying that I need to GET home. I've only been dealing with FD for 2 months and already the routine is hard to let go.

Thanks, everyone.

Anne--so glad I'm not alone in my seemingly strange reaction to things going pretty well!
