Still nothing exciting to report here. Trix got close to the lagoon before I went to sleep last night...I doubt she made it all the way in, though. This morning is her third cycle on this dose...

I'm thinking of switching her from chicken-based food to maybe turkey-based food, to see if that has an sort of effect. Grasping at straws, I suppose....

Morning Amy - not too bad for Trixie, perhaps a little food spike there with that +2. It was nice to see her find the greens last night. maybe again today Trixie?

Ya never know on the fuds... maybe give it a try?

I would think that's a food number too. My girl goes up about 20 or so and it takes 2 hrs 20 minutes
to change so I now get a 2.5 instead.

I don't know if there would be much difference between chicken and turkey but you never know. ECID.
Eventually I plan on experimenting with a slightly higher carb , like 6% at amps to see if it changes the
number upward on the +2.
Some cats don't like the super low carbs and I sometimes think I might have one of those.


Come on Trixie. How about some low blues today?

Sigh...still nothing earth-shattering going on here. I have to check out Binky's list for other food options. Summer 2011, she would eat a mix of BG chicken and Nature's Variety chicken, and she had fabulous numbers on less than 1.00u. Now, she'll only eat FF chicken (or Wellness chicken, which REALLY makes her numbers go crazy), and we're at 3.00U with mediocore numbers....really annoyed with FD tonight.
 
Hi Amy, how did I miss your condo? Trixie, come on down and join Maggie tonight! Have you tried Wellness Turkey BG? Nature's Variety spiked Mags for some reason. Have a great weekend.
 
Trix isn't a huge fan of the "BG" line of foods, which frustrates me to no end, because I know her BG really agrees with them. I'm afraid to try ANY Wellness flavors with her, because the Wellness chicken always wreaks all sorts of havoc with her. She's been on FF for nearly a year, and that's just about when her insulin needs went up. Overall, she's not terribly finicky, but she definitely does not love the uber-healthy stuff :roll: ...such a cat!

Have you tried the Merrick Line? they have a couple of 3%, 5% foods. Mannie does OK with them, though some here report that they can elevate BG's. They do have fish in alot of them though, if that is a concern. We ended up with FF foods too when Mannie's appy issues started - it was the only thing he'd eat. We are finally starting to reintro the others. Good luck - I hope you can find something that Trixie likes.
 
Not a bad day but still not very Trixie like. I'm on my phone so I can't see your ss. Remember last winter Trixie did the same thing, only higher I think. She was stuck in the 200's for awhile. Tarragon was going high at the same time. I don't remember what caused the break through finally but I know you tried switching pens. Was it food related? It's worth a shot on the switch if she will tolerate it. I know turkey raises Maggie's BGs. It doesn't on Tarragon. ECID.

Sorry I haven't been around to visit (in person and on board). I don't know where the times goes. Thanks for visiting today. I'm using the feeder I got from you. At first Daphne did not like it at all. She didn't mind the sound, but she doesn't like to put her head in a deep bowl. But I had to get her used to it, since my other feeders were just too hard to understand for my goddaughter/sitter. So I bought another on Amazon. I have been using it for a few weeks, so she is pretty comfortable them now, and then we will be away. I'll be home to check on things though, I just can't leave her to too long, I have bad separation anxiety.

Sorry, I hijacked your post. I was going to say, did you try EVO95%? I have some here, (its all I ever used). I can take some to you at the store this week.

Come on Trixie, please give your mom something to get excited about, you know like some green...
 
Usually I mix different brands of food for trial & stick to one mix for a period of time to see how it did to to the bg. Currently Rosy's on Ziwipeak vension (Australian brand) mix with Wiskas chicken loaf style (also Australian made). We dont have that many bg brands in HK, even the FF pate style is not sold here. I gave Rosy the Wellness Core before which is not a real LC but compared to the current, not much difference in her bg. Guess canbe that Ive always mixed it with Wiskas.
Try experimenting slowly to find the bg food Trixie love. Got to go slow as we dont want an upset stomach. ;-)
