Good Morning, Lantus Land. We've started the 1U again, and I'm optimistic that this will get him back on track. Currently he's gazing longingly at Winnie's breffis. :roll:

WCR: Purring, primping, being a booger... so, all in all, I'd say he's having a good morning. :-D

Well, I got enough sleep last night, so I should be in good shape for testing today. I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys the... er... well, I'm enjoying preparing for a hurricane, lol.

Oh yeah, we've got a good feeling about the increase. As for Earl? Well... he's not "supposed" to make a direct hit. :lol: I feel sorry for anybody visiting Ocracoke Island (North Carolina, Outer Banks), though - mandatory evacuation. I think the last hurricane that made landfall out that way actually washed away roads. Eeek. How's that song go?... "Don't build your house on a sandy land..." ohmygod_smile

I hope this new dose gets him back on track just like you want! I hope you guys all stay safe during this hurricane season ... I don't think I could handle it!

Thankfully, this hurricane isn't "supposed" to make landfall here, but we'll see how that goes. For now... lots of crossing fingers and making sure battery things are charged!

Rufus doing much better today. Perhaps we'll be more blue.

Now... we search for 1 oz. silicone baking trays to freeze our future raw food in. :razz:

186 PMPS. A little unsure about shooting 1.00u at 186, but I've shot lower numbers at 1.00u, so - why not? We've got HC, we've got strips. I'll get +1, etc.

Edit: Second thought... he's only risen 3 points since +7. That's... umm... GAH!

Oh, boy. He probably should be showing a food spike, but instead he's dipped slightly. I wonder if this is the oh-so-subtle prelude to a long night. :lol: Well... I'll test again at +2? I'm not terribly worried about the numbers now. Maybe the spike will have kicked in and the +2 will level with this or something... If he goes lower than 125 or thereabouts, 'spose I should LC him? (watch him make a run for his toys just so he can spend some time in the Gravyard.)

I'd definitely get a +2. (You may want to note in your subject line that the 170 is your +1).

Re. freezing raw food: I measure out 1/4 cup portions, wrap in plastic wrap, and freeze.

Ah! Oops, I thought I had "+1" up there, but I must have typo'd instead.

I assume that system works well for you? I'm currently looking at 4 meals of 2.75oz. a day (I know - a lot of food, but he's a wegie mix and has been losing muscle in his back over a long period.) The calculations for nutrition for cats seem to indicate that he needs a lot of food just to maintain his weight. I could just be confused about the whole thing. It's difficult finding just what you want, though. :lol:

a little guideline:
if he hits 50's, you could give a little MC mix with the LC and re-test in 30 minutes
but post beforehand if you can and yell HELP in your subject line if you need it

if he hits 40's, HC and re-test in 15 to 20 minutes.

you want him to surf nice and steady in the same range of numbers..., no diving and no mountain climbing :lol:

+4.5 71. :) Didn't give the LC snack, but he's cruisin' anyway. Might give him a little LC to keep him level. I sat in Tess (the testing chair) and usually that has him running right up to me to get his treat... last time he actually had to really consider it. Looks like he's just as worn out as I am. :lol:

I'm happy with the numbers - although I'll admit, the green still makes me nervous. I'm unsure if he really needs the 1.00u, though. It gave him the necessary boost this morning - but with the discrepancy between AM and PM PS... I wonder if it'll be needed in the morning. My concern is that if he bounces in the morning (not very likely with the fact that he isn't going very low, right?) and we give the 1.00u, tomorrow evening will just be a repeat of tonight, lol. I want those pretty predictable numbers back! Those low 200 mornings followed by blue days were lovely. :razz:
 
+5 76 - back up. Whether it's food or not, up is good enough for me. At +6/7 he'll reach his nadir, then he'll be hitting his rise. My bed, she calls! He pretty much told me to sit on it and rotate when I sat in Tess this time. :lol: After his treat... he tried to run away! :roll:
