Last time …

Still trucking along with pretty stable BG numbers.

I did take Faraday to the vet today for his inappropriate peeing. It had temporarily improved, but got bad again this week (my poor sofa!).

They’re running a urinalysis only because he’s diabetic, but the vet is assuming it’s clean because UTIs are so rare in male cats and he has no other symptoms.

While waiting for results they’re going to go ahead and assume it’s FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis). He’s getting 5 days of gabapentin and a week of probiotics and I’m being encouraged to push fluids.

His weight is stable and he looks good otherwise, so I will cross my fingers for my couch and this wee-wee kitty!

I was about 30m late with the shot tonight, hoping it’s just vet stress pushing that PS# up.

Kitty battles are starting back up, as my civvie was apparently made very angry by Mr Faraday going to (and coming back from?) the vet.

Fortunately he ate his gabapentin pill right up in some LC pate, so fingers crossed it remains that easy!!

My Sheba had FLUTD. She used to have episodes rather than a condition that was there all the time. Definitely stress was a trigger.
I gave cosequin, pain meds (tramadol) which was also foe the arthritis, extra fluids and a feliway or similar collar. And I tried to reduce any stress.

Oh I'm sorry Faraday has FIC . It's quite painful for the kitty :( which made Cleo quite cranky. It didn't always effect the BGs but sometimes right before a flare up she would give pinks.
Is he excessively grooming that area? That's usually my first sign that Cleo s experiencing discomfort. I will then add extra water to her food and leave out small bowls of boiled chicken broth for her to drink for extra hydration. (We split the chicken ;))
I also have Gabapentin on hand for Vet visits and flare-ups. It can make kitty a little loopy depending on the dose.
How's he doing today? Let us know when you get the results from the Vet. :bighug::bighug:

The initial urinalysis came back clean, but they’re culturing just in case.

Faraday doesn’t seem to be grooming anywhere excessively. Literally his only symptom is peeing outside the litter box (primarily on my couch).

I ordered another Feliway diffuser @Bron and Sheba (GA) . We had tried it to reduce kitty tensions a couple months ago to no avail, but maybe it’ll help here!
