Re: 8/9 Checkers amps 218

Barb, I think I am liking Checkers' snottiness and catch me if you can. :-D He's feeling better hopefully from the shot yesterday. Sending pain free vines for Checkers today.

Re: 8/9 Checkers amps 218

Hi guys .. so glad to hear checkers is feeling better .. hopefully that just keeps on continuing for him! And with a nice low yellow to start the day, I bet that blue is not far off .. have a great day guys!

Re: 8/9 Checkers amps 218

Nice sunny start for Checkers. I just got caught up on the vet visit. I am so sorry to hear that. I hope they find a pain management path that will work for the sweet guy. Know that we are thinking about you and sending tons of healing vines. Have a great day Barb!

Re: 8/9 Checkers amps 218 +2/130+3/95

Wow, I was just hoping for blue today.

So it could either be Dr Dave's theory, that pain kept his bg up, or mine, that he just needed a few days for the increase to kick in. He was increased from .25 to 0.5, on 8/2

Dave raised an eyebrow at me, at one point, when I said "I'll ask the support group" about something. OOPS!

Barb, you ask for blue, Checkers's giving you blue! Good boy! Surf on the blue & green!

Re: 8/9 Checkers amps 218 +2/130+3/95

Oh, what a glorious day for my boy. I was hoping for a couple of blues, and he had green even. It seems forever to see good numbers. I hope he stays off the trampoline tomorrow. :-D

Re: 8/9 Checkers pmps 195

Wow, what a great day for Checkers. it does seem that when he's feeling better from the Bupe and in less pain, his numbers improve.
Maggie said to tell Auntie Barb, she's honored her poop issues are discussed with Dr. Dave. :-D

Hi Barb - I could have sworn I posted here this AM... bummer: another one lost in cyber space. :?

What a great day for Checkers! LOVE the green. Whether it is your theory or Dr Dave's - I just love it that he found the greens today. Somehow I think maybe you both were right.

Have a great evening Barb.

hi barb! saw your post from yesterday - i'm so sorry checkers is having spinal troubles. yuck. poor baby.

i asked Dr. Lunn, the vet at Colorado State who is the specialist in cats with acromegaly (actually she's moved to UC North Carolina at Raleigh/Durham now) about giving punkin bupe on an ongoing basis. i asked because it's a narcotic and i wondered if he could become addicted or develop a tolerance for it. She said she wouldn't hesitate to give it to him and wouldn't worry about addiction if it relieved his pain. She's got about 20 initials after her name and i know her specialty is Internal Medicine in small animals. honestly, i would take her advice over almost anyone else - i think she's that good.

it doesn't sound like you're at that kind of need with Check at this point, but if you get to that point, i just wanted to throw it out there for you to add to your info load!
