Yesterday.
Ruby had an adventure last night! We live on the top floor of a brownstone and we have been letting the cats roam around the rest of the house (hallways and unoccupied 2nd floor apartment) because they seem to enjoy exploring and hanging out in the extra space, and the stairs give them some exercise. Last night we let them out as usual after their dinner, and I noticed that when they came back upstairs for their +2 meal they were covered in cobwebs and debris that I thought was odd, but didn't think much of it as they might have gotten into a closet or inside a kitchen cabinet. As Ruby's +4 test was coming up, I went to look for her and she was nowhere to be found, not in her usual hiding or lounging spots. Realized moments later that the basement door was left open as well as the door to the backyard, both of which we ordinarily close shut but someone forgot.
I freaked out, found Olive and brought her back into the apartment and went looking for Ruby everywhere. I went out to the darkness of the backyard (we have no lights there) and started calling her name. After a few minutes out of the darkness I heard a meow, and a gray and white form ambling towards me. I grabbed her and brought her back home.
Neither of my cats have ever been outside unsupervised. There are no other animals aside from squirrels and birds in our urban neighborhood, but she could have found a hole in the fence and gotten out of the yard. Thankfully my cats come when I call their names like dogs. Phew!
The dosecrease threat worked and Ruby dropped briefly into greens last night. So much for my theory that the twice a day dosing of the pred is keeping her BGs even. Looks like she continues her pattern of dropping low at night like she did on once a day pred. This cat is gonna keep me guessing.
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday!

Have a great day all of you. Healing prayers for Ruby-doo.
