8/8 Rocket- small update

Hi all,
Know that though I have not been on the board lately, I still pray for those kitties that are facing challenges as well as those beans (and relatives of the beans) who are dealing with health issues...
It has been a challenging weekend....syringe feeding Rocket and making sure he gets enough calories....that said...he has lost weight....the Baytril makes him not want to eat and we still have this week to go on the ab....I have emailed his vet as of this morning wanting to find out how much longer he needs the Baytril....
I have convinced dh to take me home at lunch this week to check on Rocket and feed him...as I’m certain he won’t eat on his own...
I’m extremely tired...
Please continue to pray for him...he eats ok in the morning before he gets the Baytril...but then goes downhill after he gets it...I know the ab is helping him....but it is frustrating to see him pretty tired....that said...he gives me attitude from time to time...
I’m still syringe feeding him...will weigh him in when I get home today...cause he seemed really thin this morning

I hope you manage some rest soon and hearing about Rocket's attitude put a smile on my face, attitude means he's a fighter!
 
Hope Rocket gets to feeling better soon! How much more of the Baytril does he have to take? Poor kitty. Lots of vines and hugs from us!
 
Vet is not in today...but my reading tells me if it was a kidney infection he needs to be on the Baytril for 6 weeks :(
Which will suck big time with his appy and me syringe feeding him...I can't go every day at lunch to check on him....

Prayers are still needed here

I went home to check on Rocket at lunch and though he was alert and came to the door to greet us...he had NOT EATEN a thing all morning....so i gave him enough via syringe feed to tie him over until i get home.....
This is very frustrating....nothing against him...i know it’s the Baytril....i’m frustrated cause i would like him to be BETTER....
I know i know i know....i gotta keep it all into perspective....all things considered....i am happy Rocket is still with me.....
Prayers are still needed and as always...anything good vibes/wishes/etc.....are very welcomed!
 
any chance you could reverse your car arrangement with the DH so you can go home at lunch more easily? you take him and pick him up instead of the reverse?

any possibility of a different AB, or is baytril the best for this bug?

hugs, claudia! keep in mind that we can do amazing things if we only have to do them for a while. as a weenie 16 year old without muscles, i pushed a 1954 chevy from a complete standstill to the side of the road after an accident when i was all "in the moment." you can do this for rocket for a while. we're all cheering for both of you. hang in there. you are stronger than you think. :YMHUG:
 
Where DH works he gets free parking and is not close to home
Where I work parking is about $35/day and I'm closer to home. So if I drive in the am and leave at noon then park here again...it would be pretty pricey :(
 
I'm certainly sending you healing vines and a ton of prayers for your Rocket. I hope he turns the corner and starts to do better.

I wanted to let you know something that I hope will make you feel better. One of my daughter's best friends is this big, strapping Italian boy, 19 years old. He decided he wanted a cat and went to the animal shelter. He found a kitten, paid $100 for it, and went home while they neutered the little dude. While home, he was thinking of names for the kitten and, out of nowhere, decided on Rocket. Just wanted you to know that your Rocket now has a namesake!!
 
Here in Toronto, the public transit system (TTC) is also known as The Rocket!
:lol: so I think of Rocket kitty often :razz:
Can't wait til he's done with that nasty batryl, come on Rocket! cat_pet_icon
