Small Leroy and Emma update in Saturday's thread.

Does anyone ever have one of those days where nothing goes right and you get so stressed out over it? I had a really crappy day at work today :-Q I knew today was going to be rough anyways because tomorrow is the deparment's summer outing and everyone who is not in management has to help each other to get stuff done. Long story short, I had to do a project that a co-worker was supposed to do but couldn't for some last minute reason and that threw my schedule way off, I blew up at my supervisor when he asked if I could do X work that day (I was already way behind in my work at the moment and still had several other things to do and was stressed out), and I spent the afternoon with an ice pack on my screwy wrist (carpal tunnel) because picking up that project for the co-worker on top of doing my normal work pushed my wrist to its limit @-) cat(2)_steam I'm assuming my supervisor found someone on the team to cover the rest of my work. Then it poured as I got off the bus and started walking home @-) I had an umbrella but the rain was coming down in buckets and it was windy. And it's a good walk from the bus stop to where I live @-)

Squishy must have felt bad for me because he sent a little something to cheer me up:

Not the greatest picture but I think you can see it  A few minutes later it turned into a double

Summer outing tomorrow but I'm not looking forward to it. It's one of those not fun team-building things that management forces everyone to participate in  And there's going to be a t-shirt with some chessy design that we all have to wear :?

aw...hope you have a good day tomorrow in spite of it all!

love squishy's gift to you!

hugs from binks and me...

That rainbow is amazing! It must have helped give your heart a boost. What a wonderful sign.

Hope you are having a better day. You aren't super woman. Just do your best and roll with the punches. Hang in there. Cheesy shirts - the thing is everyone has to wear them so it does built comradeship.

Question for you guys - do any of you have prescription sunglasses? I have had glasses for the past couple years due to an astigmatism. Wow am I ever glad they figured this out. It cut my migraines down dramatically. My glasses have an anti glare coating also. My eye sight isn't bad, but it causes a lot of strain with the right eye compensating for the fuzziness in the left eye. I can't wear my polarized sunglasses anymore. Its so annoying. So my husband said he'd buy me prescription sunglasses for our five year anniversary this month.

Do I need antiglare on prescription sunglasses? I know on my oakley sunglasses - before I had glasses I bought them off the shelf but they are plastic so maybe prescriptions are different. Are prescription sunglasses glass or plastic?

no idea on the sunglasses, but i read that shades of brown reduce migraines. it's been ages since i saw that - i was looking for someone else - but i do recall it was the brown shades that cut out some spectrum.

posted on punkin's condo - my son finished off our car this morning. pulled out onto the highway and smack into the side of a car already in the lane. the van was our 19 year old dodge caravan with the paint peeling off the hood and roof, but it worked. our other van died one month ago and we got a used corolla that our eldest daughter now has - and she lives 1.5 hrs away. talk about when it rains it pours. next week our foster daughter and our youngest daughter both need to move to neighboring towns - not sure what we're going to do about that.

poor guy is kicking himself big time. he so obviously was at fault. oh well. i pointed out that at least he was surrounded by a tank - he's been talking about wanting a motorcycle - and being a mom who looks for "teachable moments" i said "if you'd been on a motorcycle you'd either be in the hospital right now or dead." he got That Look on his face. maybe now he won't get a motorcycle. that's worth losing the van to me.

Wow Julie. Your son is one lucky boy. I was thinking a few seconds earlier and he could have been killed. Any time there is an accident you can walk away from... its probably saved his life ten times over in the future. He'll be a much safer driver now. And if he was on a bike he would be dead. Its not necessarily the bike drivers, but the other drivers that are stupid. I hate that my Dad biked - he died of cancer but I always thought he'd die on a bike. He was a risk taker. His obituary included the fact that he was the first one caught by the newly launched airplane patrol when he tried to outrun a cop that tried to pull them over. My two brothers also own bikes. I think its selfish. But when ever I say that I get almost a a lobbiest type response back haha. To each his own. My husband will never ride a motorcycle. He thought I would mellow out about it. Nope. So sorry your van is kaput :( Do your daughters have friends that own a van or a truck?

Yep - brown polarized. Before my prescription I used to wear them indoors also - they were worth their weight in gold if you ask me.
