AMPS 88 :-D We have green for the first time in a long time for a AMPS!!!!!! We had great numbers all night.I was a little surprised at the 88 this morning after the blues early this morning. Shouldnt he have gone up instead of down? Will keeping an eye on him today. But we are a happy and frisky kitty this morning.

Well I am sure he will surf for a little bit.....especially after eating. I was just shocked by the AMPS. DH woke me up during the early morning to let me know his numbers and I was like, ok he will go back up I am sure. Boy did he prove me wrong.......lol. Still I am happy with these numbers....guess he proved me wrong about going up on the dose......lol.

So after eating at the AMPS and ate some at 45 mins after the AMPS (ate some of the civies food) he has gone up to 137.

Cant keep his numbers up it seems. First they go up briefly then back down. Gotta a question, if I have to syringe feed, how do you do it?

+4.5 71..........so two consecutive ups in the past 15 mins....so will give his little ears a break and check in 30 mins. But surfing well :-D

+6 131..........so surfed well today. I hate it when he gets that low, its really a scary thought. I just hope the DH can handle something like this when I go back to work in a couple of weeks. :-|

PMPS 319......getting a reduction due to the 47 today. Had a good green day though. He is so much better than he was a few weeks ago. Now just to get the right dose going and we are good.

The numbers do tend to wobble around. As HC wears off, the numbers can drop. It depends on where in the cycle you are as well as how Doogle is responding.

I've never had to syringe feed when Gabby is low. For most cats, their instinct is to eat when their numbers drop. If you needed to syringe feed, rubbing Karo on Doogle's gums would be easier and have a faster effect.

Keep in mind that a dose is only "good" for so long. Then your cat will decide to surprise you!

If you ever need to syringe feed, there is an excellent video on the Feline Assisted Feeding web page. You will need a bunch of syringes, a blender or food processor, and the right kind of food (high calorie and something he doesn't eat normally because he probably won't like it after the syringing). You might need to do this if he is sick and not eating, but not with low numbers and he is otherwise fine.

Does the new kitty have a name yet?

I hope I never have to syringe feed but there was a point today where he didnt want to eat anymore and I was just thinking ahead. Just didnt expect that low green way before nadir. New kitty is being called Cutie at the moment but his personality is just starting to come out. Getting a lot more playful and social so I am sure he will have a permanent one very soon. If not, guess Cutie kitty will be his name...........lol

It's a little tricky not to fill them up when the numbers are low and/or dropping into low territory. If he isn't eating because he's full and you syringe food into him, could that make him puke? I think I would go with the karo on the gums in that situation. I hope you never have to syringe feed either. It was really hard to do but when I did it, it prevented a lot of other problems. Fortunately, Zener started eating on his own after a few days.

Cutie sure is a lucky guy. Or maybe just smart to come to your house. Albert?

Well another active night..........down to 49 at 6.5...so guess another fun night.

Thanks Jane, sorry I didnt update.......to be honest I forgot to....lol. Updated his SS but not here. He is all good now. His BG came up to 102 at +7.75. Thank you for being here!! I didnt expect anyone this late to be honest. I appreciate everything!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D :-D
