Yesterday Neko put on her green 'kini to honour Maggie during the day and decided the jam the blues at the Remembrance Circle party at night. We are still missing sweet Maggie here and continue to send comfort to Ann for her loss. Thanks to Susan and Ann for visiting us late last night/early this morning. It's much appreciated.

Neko continues to mix up her nadir times, but seems to be trending to later nadirs these last few days, around +8. Of course she did do a +5 one night a week ago, so she's still keeping me on my toes. I was pleased not to have to give gravy at all yesterday, although sleep suffered a bit. We were back on the water this morning so I was tripping over cats at +9 while we were getting ready and they were hanging around for their pre-row snack. I even stepped on Theo's tail. :oops: Poor guy, he's really not very good at getting out of the way and it's back to being quite dark that time of the morning. :sad: I was surprised neither cat greeted us at the door when we got home. But they were waiting for me in the kitchen. T/F/S was only two minutes late, not like I was late or anything. :roll:

Lots of NICE greens and blues there!

I'm sure Theo forgave you. Shoot, we're regularly bumping into/tripping over somebody around here!

I hear ya' on the changing nadir. Once day, Hershey's will be like +5, the next day it might be the next shot time, then +8, whatever. I've given up trying to figure it out.

Yeah, buddy, kitties forgive stepping on their tails, but you'd better be ON TIME with their food! :smile:

Very nice numbers for Neko yesterday and this morning. I hope she keeps surfing today. I hate it when I step on one of my kitties' tails, but they always seem forgiving as soon as I give them some loving to make up for it.

Happy greens, and hopes for more greens, sweet Queen of Rainbows :-) I feel so bad when I step on Leo's tail. He gives me this sad look and squeak like, "Mommy, I did a wrong? You no love me?" Breaks my heart!

@Libby - Neko can't make up her mind, nice cycle or bounce cycle so today we bounced. Acrocats typically have later nadirs, more like Lev, except when they don't. :lol: I guess I get a wet noodle for being a couple minutes late with the food. :lol: :lol:

@Carla - It was a great day and night by Neko standards, hence the bounce. :roll: Kitties are both underfoot when they think there's snacks coming. I was forgiven as soon as the FD chicken came out.

@Lisa - Queen of Rainbows is up to her usual today. Pinks are less common now, but still Neko's go-to bounce colour. I got a hiss and yelp this morning. Bad mama! Scritches to the former Rainbow King from us.

poor guy! isn't that the WORST sound in the world??!!!!

I peeked at Neko's SS...and thank god it is color coded as I would have no idea what I was looking at....kinda like most vets!

I also see you are almost at your 1 year post SRT...what does that mean?

Thank you so much for always stopping by and giving me and Tomcat such great help!

@Kelly - I feel so bad stepping on the tail. :oops: Neko's SS has a tab on the bottom where you can select US instead of World. That'll give you the numbers you are familiar with. The rest of the world uses a different measurment, but you essentially multiply the numbers by 18 to get mg/dl.

Neko's diabetes is caused by acromegaly, a high dose condition that results from a benign tumor on the pituitary gland. It causes the pituitary to produce excess insulin growth factor and growth hormones, overwhelming the job the pancreas does. She needs insulin to balance things out. The extra growth hormone can cause soft tissue and organ growth. Growth of the heart and liver being of the most concern. The treatment for acromegaly is stereostatic radiation therapy (SRT), which is available in only a couple of places in North America. We went to Colorado State Univeriity Veterinary Medical Hospital in Fort Collins. SRT is radiation that neuters the tumor cells. They will eventually die off without reproducing. Nancy and Pepper in LL have also had SRT.

And as for stopping by, I love watching success stories. Tomcat is doing so well, and so are you!

@Liz - Yeah, we have chronic liver problems too. :roll: :lol: Theo will do almost anything for kitty crack, even forgive the beans. :-D
