Good Morning, Everyone,

Starting fresh after the fur shot (partial?) last night. Starting fresh with a new cartridge of Lev. also. This morning I was super careful with the overly responsive Terumo syringes and managed to get the insulin into Rusty without getting some on his fur! It's hard not to keep your finger on the plunger when you stick in the needle (but I managed). So we'll see what happens today in the grand saga of our switch to Terumos from Monojects.

We have a beautiful, COOL, summer morning. 56 degrees. Rusty was outside briefly, but there was no action from the rodent contingent. Maybe later. I have to get a haircut and hope the barbershop won't be too crowded. I may get out on my bike later. And I have to get stuff ready for a climb of Mt. Colden tomorrow (one of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks; it will be a 12-mile round-trip hike/climb. I hope I'm up to it!!)

Wishing everyone a great new week,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/6 Rusty AMPS 235

Morning Ella - good luck with your syringe switch. I'm sure the change will be mastered soon. And Rusty - back the the blues and greens for you. :-D

And no squirrels this morning? what is up with that? Rusty - no worries - they are out there. Be Patient.... :-D

You hike tomorrow sounds really nice. I love the mountain ones. I hope you will have good views from way up there! And 12 miles! Excellent! how many feet do you climb?

Have a great day today, with whatever you end up doing.

Re: 8/6 Rusty AMPS 235

Hi Ella, lots of luck with the new syringes. Maggie's AMPS is always a little high, too, because of the free feeding. I'm thinking that might be the same for Rusty. Sounds like an awesome hike tomorrow. Looking forward to some pics, Have a nice day.

ETA - I saw where it was a partial furshot, it happens! Rusty always gets back on track in no time.

Re: 8/6 Rusty AMPS 235

Urgh! Fur shots! Mumbean's nightmare!
Everytime I shoot Rosy, I wait till she finished her food, place her on the table with overhead light, hold tight then shoot. Luckily Rosy's short haired makes it easier.
Thankyou for your advice on Rosy. Yes, that's the thing I can do is get a blood work to rule out any complication. Tomorrow morning I'll bring her to the vet. BTW, how do the vet draw blood at your side? Through the vein on their front hand? vein at rear leg? vein at the neck area?

Hope Rusty comes down nicely today.

Re: 8/6 Rusty AMPS 235

'Morning Ella.
Awww no squirrels for Rusty to chase today. Maybe they are off stocking up for winter...it is rather cool out today.

It's supposed to be nice and cooler for a few days, so you'll have great hiking weather tomorrow.
Good luck mastering the new terumos. Maybe I should stick with my sticky ones.

Thanks for the response to my question yesterday about getting new script. I see vet Wed, so I have a couple more days to see how you do with them

Re: 8/6 Rusty AMPS 235, +5.25 102, +9.5 81, PMPS 110

Hi again,
We had a good day with some outdoor time this afternoon. Rusty had good numbers after AMPS (which was residue from the fur shot last night). Tomorrow I am climbing Mt. Colden and won't be on the board until I get home (in time for PMPS). Edward and Rusty will hold the fort together. This evening I am getting my gear together for the 12-mile hike/climb, so although I won't get to many condos, I am thinking of you all.

Everyone have a great evening. We had wonderful, cool weather today.

Ella & Rusty
