ah he was a feisty guy this morning. purr purrr FLICK - i had to poke him twice to get the test done and there was plenty of blood on poke #1. he just wouldn't hold still for me. purr purrr. can't be mad when they're so dang cute, though.

i'm going to be gone til monday, probably. running to california to pick up a family heirloom in a borrowed pick up truck. kinda crazy, but it's an oak secretary that belonged to my great aunt, and her grandson is 80 and not in the best of health. his own children don't want it. my dad remembered using the desk part of it when he was a kid, and, well, i have an affinity for family furniture. i also have 1 sentimental daughter who would keep everything, another not as much sentimental daughter who would keep it if she liked it, and a son who would only keep it if he liked it. so between them someone will enjoy it someday.

but before that, i'm making lunch for a friend i met online several years ago - i'm thinking perhaps 5 or 6. she's about my age from texas and we were both involved in youth ministry - today she and her husband are coming through, so after talking daily for years we're going to meet. how cool is that?!

so i hope you all have a great weekend. our son is taking care of punkin, so he's in pretty good hands.

You are coming to my neck of the woods (California). It is gorgeous this week...so great timing! Yes, despite the rumors we get bad weather here too... Have fun with your friend!!! :-D

safe travels...and how wonderful to finally get to meet your friend!

I dream of the day when we can manage an all-group reunion for LL!

great amps and safe trip we have a house full of antiques that were my grandmothers and great grandmothers and 2 sons who adore heirlooms (thank goodness) since I went out of my way to make sure all I have stayed in the family when my aunt went on a selling frenzy after my grandmother died   long story there she had a lot of debts to pay and I went in debt to keep stuff in the family

Punkin was looking good this morning! I hope you enjoyed your lunch, and travel safely! The heirloom sounds very, very cool!!

Oooh! I'd love to see a picture of the heirloom! I love seeing period pieces that are still in families' homes. We don't really have anything like that. My parents came to this country in 1970 so the oldest stuff we have is furniture from Sears.

Let us know how your lunch went! I think that it's so cool you met up with a friend online. I'd love to meet you someday too Julie!
