So I guess we need to see what happens after he clears the bounce. With his luck he will start to look better by Friday and then I will need to manipulate things as I will be gone from 11:45 a.m. until I'm guessing 7:00-7:30 for the wedding. I'll be asking how to shoot for that.

I'm praying my mom will rally but so far the UTI seems in full force judging by her lack of appetite and lousy mood and mental status. Please add her to your list. It will be so sad if you either can't make it to the wedding or isn't herself.

I just read this about cerenia written by a vet.

That concern for obstruction is not so much for lymphoma cats specifically as it is for general vomiting patients coming in for vomiting, getting Cerenia, and having no diagnostics. Th vomiting would be stopped and there would be no symptoms until the obstruction perforated. These are typically foreign bodies. There is little contraindications for regular Cerenia use in a small cell lymphoma, pancreatitis cat. We use it daily long term all the time for nauseous, chemotherapy sensitive or lymphoma nauseous cats.
Cerenia is much better for pancreatitis than ondansetron because it addresses pain and recruitment of inflammatory mediators.

The other vet at my practice mentioned that he wouldn't give more than 1 dose of cerenia without an x-ray to make sure the patient didn't injest something in which throwing might be helpful.

Praying to God for mom to get a break through. God can do the impossible. It would be great if she can be at the wedding and enjoy it.

How did that 173 get there? I guess I need to proofread before I submit. In any case we don't have a food spike so I think he will clear the bounce. I just cancelled my bike so maybe not!! If it's his attempt to keep me home it will fail because I can take a 12 or 5:15 class and have to go shopping again with my sister at some point.

Max is now taking diving lessons. I knew he was coming down because he was hanging out with me by the computer, talking a lot, and even went to his testing room. I only waited an hour but darn it this is enough of a drop to cause another bounce. Nothing I can do about it. I fed him some mc which he just meowed to say I'm done and want more. I can't give him more so soon so he will just have to wait. Poor Max.

Wow, you were right about him clearing the bounce. Ah, Max was letting you know he was getting hungry from the drop. Hopefully the MC will slow him down a bit.

glad to see he's coming down - if the little guy would just SLOW DOWN!

i found this post from a year ago Tashie where there is a discussion about manipulating curves with food. You might get some helpful info from it.

Thanks, Julie. I started reading that condo. Max keeps changing on me. Usually he doesn't dive like this. I expected a drop at +2 and planned to give him the mc but not that big a drop. i gave him the mc at +2 but he still dropped 68 points at +3. I guess I now need to find something between the 10% or so trader joe's and maybe 18%? Back to the food charts I'll go.

Max is dropping way too fast. We are sure to get a bounce off this. I just fed him more mc and a teaspoon of gravy lovers. Almost went for the karo. Now will be testing in 30. Please surf Max.

It seems that when Max hit green it lasts until +8 and goes up rather quickly from there just like it comes down quickly. Is it the beginning of a bounce? Others seem to stay green until well into the next cycle. Max has not done that in a long time and vary rarely at that.

Everything has fallen apart this summer, which is why I've been absent. I've been lurking a lot and trying to keep up with daily posts but haven't had the mental fortitude to actually post. I've been reading about your challenges with Max, though. I know you've been working hard to slow the drops. I wish I had some magic advice for you - I don't. Hopefully you can find something that will help in Tashie's condo. Just remember that, no matter what you do, you can only control so much. Don't beat yourself up about what you can't control.
