I came to update her thread today and discovered I never posted - oops. Been busy I guess - last sailing event for the season and I'm ready to relax.

Maus update: I got her to the vet yesterday; someone I hadn't seen before & my regular vet filled her in. I pointed out that the SNAP test given last Dec was abnormal, 3 months before the FD diagnosis in March. I asked for the Spec fPL test & she obliged with no objection. Hope for results Monday.

She gave Maus a pill dose of cerenia (it was not easy, see yesterday's note about an alligator roll & the tech checking for wounds) & Maus is much better. We agreed no more c. injections. She didn't disagree too much at the time, but was very stand-offish the rest of the night & flinched at the subsequent insulin shots. She waits for me to leave before she'll eat. Also said I can give more Pepcid for the acid, especially since she eats it so readily.

Even without getting the SpecfPL numbers back, it's pretty clear that the pancreatitis flares are driving the train here & we'll need to learn how to manage it. This latest bout puts the chicken allergy into question but I'm going to keep it out for now. Maus loves rabbit & lamb. We're also going to have to get good at pilling, no other way.
