Held off the increase 1) to see where she went today after AMPS and 2) because I'm going to be out tomorrow afternoon/evening. Neither of them eating much today, lots of sleeping, but she seems fine otherwise.

Finally scheduled blood draw for the acro test, next Wednesday. Spent too long today looking at images of acro cat jaws...will be good to have a definitive answer.

Good to have the test scheduled, are you also doing IAA?

Yeah while I waited for our appointment and test results, Mr Kitty's face definitely changed :/ I had hoped it was just my eyes/brain tricking me, but no. Do you think her face is changing? Or any other acro symptoms?

I AM doing IAA! The IM says she doesn't think Minnie exhibits the symptoms and her diabetes is more likely due to pancreatits, but I stare at Minnie's lower lip so much. I feel that I see more of her lower gums than Sam's, and more than I used to. Unfortunately despite the amount of time I stare at the photos on the internet, I can't figure out what I'm looking for! I will ask the vet when I'm there for the blood draw - first time since her diagnosis I've been able to go in for the appointment!

Regardless, your experience with Mr Kitty (although I realize very unusual!) makes me lean even more towards cabergoline if the results come back positive. Just checked your s/s, so happy to read that he is doing so well right now!:bighug: Hope rest of the family doing better too.

Just so you know, I saw an article saying only about 35% of acros have clinical symptoms on diagnosis. Neko's symptoms were extreme hunger (she also was unregulated) and a teary eye, that I found out later was from soft tissue growth in the tear duct. She never did have jaw changes, but did have soft tissue growth changes in her mouth. But it would be good to know one way or the other and stop the questions in your mind.:bighug:

Good to see green again today.:D

I remember doing that …. Looking at acro pictures a d trying to figure out if Darcy had any changes….. looking through old photos to try and compare.
Is it still hot there? I’m wondering if that’s why they didn’t eat much. Several of my cats just eat well one day and then not as much the next… it seems to be their pattern…. But when a sick cat does it, you cannot help but worry.

Are they sending the blood off to Michigan State University? I’m just wondering since MSU does the Acromegaly testing on Wednesdays. If they drew her blood on Monday and sent it off, MSU could test it that same week.

Minnie is such a low dose for an Acrocat. I would not have suspected Acromegaly…. I think maybe Wendy had mentioned that sometimes it’s still possible? I fervently hope and pray that the test comes back negative! Maybe it’s just IAA.

In your shoes I would test for both. Knowing for sure will stop that feeling in my gut I always get when I worry about the unknown. :bighug:

Monkey never made it past 7 units of lev.
But I just knew early on. I’m so glad I had her tested early.
