Feeding High Carb. No 'signs' of Hypo, but I've got enough sense to know that you don't have to 'see' the signs until it's dangerous. Will check him in a few minutes.

That's a hellofa way to wake up. :roll:

OK, either there is something wrong with my ReliOn meter or that HC has a severe effect on him. Going to test him with the Arkray. No luck there, the Arkray isn't working at all. :?

Are we getting hit by Solar Flares today or something? @-) Do I need to make a tin foil hat? :lol: This is crazy, I've used the Arkray with the ReliOn strips, at least 3 dozen times in the last 6 months (just to 'see') and now, either they won't work or they have changed something. But I haven't tried it since the Relion strips don't have the cut outs. Anyone else notice that? The last 3 vials I've bought, didn't have the cutouts in them. Just checked the 2 vials I bought yesterday, they don't have the cutouts either. When they did, they would work in the Arkray. Guess I'll order some from ADW. I prefer to have 2 working meters so I can double check when I need to.

Note to self, don't feed HC on ONE test result. I should have tested him again before I fed him, but I was stunned, I've never seen LO before! :shock: And every time I have tested a 2nd time, it's always been the same. The first time I don't............. ohmygod_smile

I'm sure he'll come back down, the Lev hasn't even had time to kick in yet. I'll bet it was a meter glitch, should have tested twice. ohmygod_smile

Was it the meter or the strip? We'll never know.

Betting you are right as well as that being a meter glitch...and it takes practice to remember to test twice when you see something out whack on the meter.. :lol:

Fo' Real! The exact opposite of what I'm used to. :shock:

Have wallet in hand, gonna order strips for the Arkray.

Then have to get ready to go to PT. Eval day. Hate that, she stretches me to the max to see if my range of motion has improved any. I think they feel it reflects on them if there isn't improvement and it shouldn't, but they will hurt you to show you've improved! :o But my ortho will test me again on the 26th and make his own determination. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Yeah Mel, at a time when you SHOULD test twice, you're in a state of shock and that's the last thing on your mind. Hindsight, ya know? ohmygod_smile

What a day!

He just went thru a coughing spell, like he was trying to bring up a hairball, but didn't produce anything. Could that cause a spike/or drop, this bad?

Seems like anything and everything effects his BG's. :roll:

It could do some. Vomiting always made Spitzer's glucose levels drop like a rock.

And then there was Dusty the other day - no signs of anything, actively greeted me, purred in my lap, and I tested him with a One Touch meter ... then promptly fed him some more food when it came up a 31! Mind you, there was low carb dry out, but he wouldn't eat it. Jo doesn't home test and hadn't witnessed any problems, so I have no clue how many days he was going that low. *shudder* At least he seems to be OK.

So... ECID??

Got back from PT and the store, he's at 77 and there's hair puke on my bed. Can't be sure it's his, but the chances are pretty good since he's had 2 coughing fits today.

Hoping the 'hair puke' was what was contributing to his higher numbers.

That's another reason I think it was him. The other cats throw up 'balls', or actually little cigars from an inch long to as long as 6 inches. He just blows liquid with hair in it, no form to it, at least that I've ever seen.

Waiting to see where he'll be come PMPS.........

He's 60 @ +12. I'm going to hold off until I see he's climbing. He ate 1.5 hrs ago, when he was 77 @ +10.5.

Not knowing what he's doing, I'm going to wait. Looking at his AMPS and +3 this morning, I think that's best for now.

Fell asleep. He woke me up and I gave him 2 more T of MC. I didn't think either of us would sleep that long. Will set the clock this time. ohmygod_smile
