I expect another yellow day. Checks will probably be under the bed most of the time, trying to stay away from family, here today.
He enjoys the attention from Gabby, the 8yo, but Kelsey, age 4, does not impress him. I don't want her handling him with his back problem anyway.

I've got lots to do this morning.. ohmygod_smile everything has to be put out of the way of the little one.
Sorry I can't do condos this morning. Back tonight.

Re: 8/5 Checkers amps 222/232

Gabby will hide if there are kids in the house. The commotion bothers her. Even Gizmo, who's incredibly social, doesn't know what to do with kids.

It looks like you're better off cooking your own chicken for Checks!! I've even had to be careful about rotisserie chicken. The place that sells the chicken that's across the street brines the chicken. Since sugar is used in the brine, Gabby doesn't get any. (It's a good thing she's not big on table food.)

Re: 8/5 Checkers amps 222/232

I had forgotten that the rotisserie chicken has sucrose in the stuff they inject....or soaked in brine with sucrose.

Today was awful for him. It's been raining off and on since last night, and it's gloomy and humid, even when its not raining.
The kind of weather that causes pain for arthritics.
Susan noticed that is pupils were greatly dilated. I assumed it was from the stress of the commotion. He was with family, but in the cube.
When he came out, he cried out when he tried to get up on a small sewing stool. I gave bupe, and he was feeling good in a couple of hours.
Good enough to get up on kitchen counter and was chewing on fresh corn husks. Really Checkers....corn???

Then go into trash to get it back? ( I had the camera out, for the kids.)

Hmmm, wonder if there's any carbs in corn greens.

Re: 8/5 Checkers pmps 254

Oh Checks! Glad the Bupe helped. Poor guy. I'm with him. My RA bumps with the humidity and rain. Hope your day was great and you have a wonderful night Barb! I really appreciate you checking on us today.

Re: 8/5 Checkers pmps 254

Barb, so glad Checkers is feeling better after the Bupe, poor baby! Sending him some feel better vines. :YMHUG:

The pic of him stand up getting the corn husk from the trash is hilarious! :-D That;s also good to hear he got up on the kitchen counter! Meaning he's feeling better

Re: 8/5 Checkers pmps 254

Guess there's lots of fiber at least in those husks. I think he was really looking for the yummy corn though.

I asked the guy at the store where I bought a rotisserie chicken once, whether the one marked as plain had anything on it, and he said that put a little garlic and onion powder on all of them

I hope Checkers settles down to a nice peaceful and stress free night.

Re: 8/5 Checkers pmps 254

What? on the onion and garlic!! I saw on the label that it had sucrose, but I thought it was mandatory for the label to say what spices are in it. I buy plain, and don't give him skin, but I guess that chicken is off my grocery list from now on....as is cantalope. He is insane for cantalope, as well as all dairy. I need sour cream flavored cat food.

Re: 8/5 Checkers pmps 254

Our rotisserie chicken doesnt have much on it,,no sugar at all, maybe salt though, I will have to ask--
Moonie hasnt been so great today either, I have yet to give her the bupe, bu with all this rain, I am thinking about it!..Hope Checks feels better and will be good with the company--Hugs & Love from us--
Checkers Feel Better sweetie!

Poor Checks...little kids and arthritis! Trix is afraid of all strangers, no matter how old. I'm glad the bupe has him feeling fine tonight...he's SO cute hunting down those corn husks!!! My GA, Mr Kitty, loved brussel sprouts. Kitties can be...interesting...in their tastes, that's for sure!

Keep feeling good, Checkers!!

You guys have had quite a day with a family party and all. I'm glad that Checkers felt much better after his Bupe. Corn husks might have an appealing texture? Maybe he basically just wanted to play with them.

Nice +2 tonight Checks. Are you listening to the threat of a dosecrease??

Have a good evening, Barb. I hope your weather gets better. Ours was miserable today, too: very hot and humid with a few storms.

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty

Hi again, Barb,

Just to reply to your question:
I was curious about how you manage to change syringe brands. Do you go to the vet for a new script, or were you ready for a new one anyway? Since we can no longer get syringes online w/o prescription, it would mean going back to vet to ask for new script, just to try new ones.
The hair trigger you mention intrigues me. The syringes I am using, don't glide easily, even though I push plunger up and down to spread the lubricant inside, before drawing up insulin.

When I had to get new syringes from ADW a few months ago, I asked my vet for a new script because they would not ship them any more without a script (NY State law requires a script). Now, whenever I order, I just put into the "comments" space that they have the vet's prescription on file. This works just fine. It doesn't matter what syringes you order (you can order different ones from the ones the vet prescribes).
Hope this answers your questions.
The Terumos glide so well that you don't even know you are giving a shot. I will have to get used to this! Here's the link to them on ADW:

See you tomorrow,

Ella

nice to see Checkers in the blue tonight,... could he please shout out to Rupert who for some unknown reason decided it would be fun to visit the red floor???? Glad you had a good day! glad I don't need a scrip up here for insulin syringes, I just get them at the pharmacy, by the box.
