Good Morning LL Friends.

Tigger's 8/3 Condo

I feel terrible. I slept through & didn't test Tigger after +4 last night. I slept through it all until 7:30 this AM & got an AMPS of 110! Re-tested & it was 104. Our lowest AMPS ever. I'm assuming Tigger went at least blue or maybe even low green & I wasn't there for him.

Our daughter & her family gone overnight, so no extra noise. Tigger was high & level at PMPS & before, & +1, +2, & +4. I figured it would be a repeat of the high level bounce from 8/1 PM, & I didn't re-set my alarm. I was exhausted, but that's no excuse. I also figured it was a good time to give Tigger's ears a break & not test excessively- We've been testing so much lately his poor ears are a little bruised. I usu. wake up (snoring husband, bladder, etc.) or my husband wakes me up to test. DH says he tried to rouse me @ 2PM, but I just mumbled (don't even remember!)

Tigger slept on the bed with us, and he & Spankey seemed normal throughout the night - at least I didn't wake up. This AM, though, Tigger was jumping up & down the bed, chirping, & playing with a toy mouse Spankey'd 'killed' on the bed last night. Old Tigger behavior, not DM Tigger behavior. He was my alarm @ 7:30 - I flew out of bed & started everyone's breakfast & tested @ 7:50.

Tigger's obviously feeling great, but I'm really disappointed with myself. I don't know where he is in his cycle, if he's coming up or going down, or had a double cycle. I'm clueless. I'm so sorry, Tigger - really bad timing

Good news is that Tigger is in healing territory - I will focus on that & feel blessed that he didn't have a hypo he couldn't recover from on his own last night.  I am VERY LUCKY.

OK. So, plan for the day: I gave the full 2 units @ regular dose time. Test @ +1, +2, etc. Get back up off the ground & get to work. Learn from mistakes. Always set alarm clock, even if that means sleeping in another room so DH gets his sleep.

I hope everyone else out there is having a better start to their day!

Re: 8/4 Tigger AMPS = 110 - Fell Asleep Think missed late lo

Hi Suzanne!
Great AMPS number, and I'm glad Tigger's feeling good!!!
Oh, Don't be so hard on yourself, I think we've all done that!
I've even slept through 2 alarms!!

Re: 8/4 Tigger AMPS = 110 - Fell Asleep Think missed late lo

I've slept through a slew of alarms before. It happens. Especially when you're tired.

I stayed up too late last night and got up all sleepy at AMPS, and then 90 minutes later when I was more awake, I couldn't remember if I shot or not.

Tigger's start to today is a beautiful number. I hope the rest of your day is just the same.

What if...
You didn't miss anything except a slow drop to where he ended up at for AMPS? There's no rule that says he had to have gone lower than that overnight.

OOOh - I didn't think of that option, Carl, thanks! I guess it's much easier to think I'm a horrible person :?

Ok, we have options, & I have a kitty @ +2 with an 83! He is going slow, so maybe you're right

To be continued........

Thanks again, guys, I'm so happy to have found you all!

Re: 8/4 Tigger AMPS=110 +1-Fell Asleep Think missed late low

Thanks, Mariko & Dyana, for stopping by & the encouragement. Thanks for helping me remember we're not perfect.

Oh, Dyana! :o That's scary, too.

I'm feeling better. I mean, given Tigger's history, his m.o. is to stay high & level.

This is a new trend for Tigger, so I need to adapt as well & be more vigilent. I guess that's a good thing as well.

Tigger's had several big setbacks (oral Glipizide 1st 3 weeks & starting over on Lantus from Prozinc)

OK, I'll stop beating myself up - move forward not backward - we have a mission!!!!

Re: 8/4 Tigger AMPS = 110 +1/91 +2/83!

Great day for Tigger today, he's really liking this dose.  I love to hear that he's showing his pre FD behavior!

Always remember that you have to be healthy and well enough to help Tigger. Sometimes you just need sleep. Given Tigger's numbers last night, I would have done the same as you and called it a night. I also agree with Carl that he might have just slid down to blue overnight. Last night Neko was going up when I went to bed, but slid down to blue. They do like to keep us guessing. The other thing I often say to myself is "will she be safe overnight". It's not important to be awake to see high greens, but to be awake to see low greens.

We have a spare bedroom that I'll often sleep in for the first part of the night with alarms, and then move back to the regular BR after I know she's safe. The running joke at the test before bed is "so, which bedroom are you going to sleep in?".

Re: 8/4 Tigger AMPS = 110 +1/91 +2/83!

Awesome numbers Tigger!!! Don't feel bad Suzanne - like Carl said, he may have had a nice steady decline into the blues! You are a very good mom, so don't question yourself. As you can see - everyone has been there. I felt really sure one time Bob's numbers were relatively high and I had nothing to worry about so when I got around to testing him, he was a 26!!!! Just out of the blue! I felt the same way, but at least I caught it.

I'm so glad Tigger is feeling great! I hope he just keeps on getting better for you! :-D

Re: 8/4 Tigger AMPS = 110 +1/91 +2/83!

Hi Suzanne! I'll add my vote to the "probably just slid down to blue". Papaya does that all the time when she's clearing a bounce. It sounds like you picked the perfect time to get some much-needed sleep! And how nice to see "old Tigger" behavior - that more than anything else tells you you're doing things right :-D

Re: 8/4 Tigger AMPS = 110 +1/91 +2/83!

Awwww, Thanks, Guys! :YMHUG:

It's amazing how you can develop bonds when you fall into a low place in your life, and then from that bottom something beautiful grows.

I know we've all experienced that bottom - when we first get the diagnosis & think, "What the @#**%#@ am I going to do now????" And then we find our way here. And all these wonderful people support & teach & prop us up - time after time.

And it becomes bearable, then do-able, then win-able. All because of this lifeline.

"Thanks" is such a small word, but, Thanks so much, all of you! Really. Tigger's cruised up to a 151, so I'm going to try & nap some more - get some reserve before all the kids come home in a few hours!

Wendy, that's a great idea. All our spare rooms are full right now, but we still have the LR couch & a TV! Will look at doing that - will give DH his beauty rest & I can set alarms to my heart's content - no excuses! But - will have to convince Tigger the sofa is more comfortable than the bed - hmmmmm
