Good morning LL!

Nice blue this morning. DH was gone helping Mason move to his new apt so Tarragon kept me company all night. He was a happy furry purry guy other than a hairball at 3 am. The kids were all patient this morning and happy its Saturday.

Lots of wildfires in OK right now due to our extreme heat and drought. They shut the turnpike down from Tulsa to OKC due to a large fire after DH got to Norman so it will be an adventurous drive back for him today. There is a very large fire just south of Norman as well with over 25 homes lost as of last night. Maybe the kitties could do a big rain dance for us here today. We need all the help we can get.

Have a great weekend!

Morning Melissa, and wow on the nice blue for Tarragon. I see green later. So glad your DH made it to Norman okay. That's scary with the wild fires and the extreme heat. Saying some prayers that you all will get some rain and relief from the heat. Sweet with Tarragon staying close to his MomBean last night. Have a nice Saturday.

Re: 8/4 Tarragon AMPS 133

Good Morning Melissa. Beautiful blue start to Tarragon's day. :-D
I hope and pray, that you DH gets home without too much trouble and detours.

Re: 8/4 Tarragon AMPS 133

Morning Melissa - what a nice start for Mr T today. The boys seem to feel that those blues are the place to be. :-D Surf well today Tarragon.

I will hope for relief for you from the heat, that maybe some rains will make it your way. Wildfires are such scary things. I am glad DH made t to Norman OK, hope he has a safe journey home.

Enjoy your day today!

Auntie Melissa Bean? I am dancing - a rain dance for you. I hope it works... ~~ Mannie

Re: 8/4 Tarragon AMPS 133

Hey, Melissa -

WOW - I saw the big fire on the news...just. WOW!!! No rain dance, but Hershey is performing his rain nap, hope it helps! I hope y'all get rain SOON and they get the fires under control! Hope DH gets home without too much trouble, too.

NICE BLUE for Tarragon, maybe he's GREEN by now?!

Have a great day -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Yellow but doing ok. A little tense today.

They reopened the turnpike long enough for DH to get through. The fuel pump went out once he hit Tulsa. It took 4 hours to get a tow in 118 heat. Ugh. New fires have sprung up NW of Tulsa and the turnpikes are shut back down. We have falling ash right now. Paws crossed they get it under control. Poor firefighters. 25 mph winds and 118. A lot without power as the power poles are burning. All that and we are low on water with restrictions for the last week.

Good job, T, taking care of your mombean during this stressful time. It's unbelievable, the fires, the temperature, the dryness, the wind. At least DH got to Tulsa before the fuel pump went out. That's a drag in regular circumstances. I hope the weather breaks soon.
Liz

Oh my gosh, Melissa, with the fires and heat. That is really scary with it being so close. Is Mason okay in Norman? The fuel pump is what went out on my car last repair job. Glad you all are okay and that DH made it back to Tulsa. Sending vines and prayers for the weather to break and for the firemen. Keep us posted.
(((Hugs)))

Thanks guys. There is a fire that is just coming into Norman and they are evacuating some areas but not Mason or the University yet. We are suppose to have a wind shift up to 40 mph out of the north in the next couple of hours which will just complicate things. Sadly all of the fires appear to be arson. There are 3 big ones headed this way so we wait and hope the firefighters hang in there. There are a lot of smaller fires in town. Listening to the fire scanner and it's ridiculous stuff. A man on the side of the road lighting a rope in fire. A guy throwing lit newspapers out his car window. Someone burning brush. Etc.

Stay safe. I'll be thinking about you. Hoping some rain comes your way by tomorrow morning.

Melissa,

How horrible! How is Tarragon's asthma with the fires, smoke and ash?

Prayers for lots of rain and the safety of the fire fighters.

Hey Sherry! He started coughing a little while ago. I gave him albuterol and extra Flovent and an extra prednisolone. Of course the house stinks since the attic fan is running. DH was just commenting that his eyes were stinging. Hopefully the pred will do the trick!

Hey Melissa!

I hope the extra pred and the albuterol help. So scary! When we had brush fires, I ended up having to keep all of the doors/windows shut with A/C on and give Zoe albuterol just to get her through it. Fires with all smoke are so hard on them.

oh my... I will be thinking of you guys. I cannot believe what people will do in these kinds of circumstances. love the guy throwing lit newspapers out a car window... omg.

Stay safe.

Oh that's terrible Melissa. It's so sad that these people are setting the fire. Please stay safe, do you have to evacuate the area? The smoke must be terrible.
Never mind Terragon's bg first because he must be stressed. Take care of his breathing & is there a way to block the smoke coming inside? We are told to use wet towel to block the gaps under the door to avoid smoke coming in when there is a fire in the buliding.

So sorry to hear about the fires and the smoke affecting Tarragon's asthma. Hope the medicine helps. I will be praying for Tarragon and your family and the firefighters as they work to get the fires under control.

Oh Melissa,
Heaps of prayers and rain vines for you and your family tonight. I cannot imagine how awful it must be with fires, intense temperatures, and high winds. Please stay safe. Fill your bathtub with cold water to use in emergencies. Soak some towels in water to have on hand to help Taragon breathe. We are very thankful that your DH got home safely.

Worried about you... Take care.

Sending massive rain vibes for OK. And I'm astounded that these fires are arson. What kind of sicko people do this? Horrible.

I hope the wind doesn't blow and there is rain coming for you soon.

SENDING STRONG RAIN MAKING VINES TO YOU & ALL THOSE IN OK! HOW COULD ANYONE DO SUCH A THING>????
Praying with all my Might for you & your family's safety & for Tarragon to feel well!!
Holding thoughts of you close--Tomorrow will be a better day! Hugs & love from us!!

Hi Melissa,

I hope you and your family ride it out alright and Tarragon doesn't have an asthma attack. We used to go through that every year when I lived in CA and it was the same thing - set on purpose most of the time! Horrible! I hope the extra meds keep Tarragon on the right track. That smoke is terrible for an asthmatic. Stay safe!

Hugs,
Melanie & Racci
