Hi and all is well with Maggie this morning except for her shot. When I inserted the syringe, Maggie jerked which is unusual, so I may have struck a nerve. I'm not sure what her next reading will say about it! I'm also experimenting with another method of measuring a drop dose by counting the drops from the half mark. I had been drawing just enough for a drop and then twisting the syringe til the drop showed and then withdrawing the drop back into the syringe. I wonder if this method makes the juice less potent! Sounds like it was a rough morning for you today! Hopefully the shot went in. I have never had to measure that small amount, so I am of no help regarding the syringe. Hope you have a wonderful day Ann and your girl shows you some blues and greens!

Hi guys .. sorry to hear maggie jerked with her shot .. Peter always measured out our insulin but I know he really struggled with the low dose amounts .. Let's hope maggie comes down, she's so close to blue .. have a great day!

Thanks Melissa and Devon for stopping by and for your support with my fur shots. What a surprise! I didn't poke her as I thought I had goofed with her shot, and she was sleeping so soundly. All of a sudden, she woke up and looked at me like, "I'm ready for my poke" plus I want my treat! It looks like this new way of pulling up the juice to the half unit mark and then counting drops until I get to one works better vs the way i had been doing it, anti-jynx. This is her Nadir, and she won't go any lower, but I'll do one out the door check. I gave her FF Seafood Feast which I didn't want to give her fish, but she's been so picky.

I think there are 4-5 drops in a half unit and once Moonie was on 0.1 and 0.25--
If Maggie flinched, it doesnt mean the shot didnt go in, Did you smell any insulin on her coat??
Fur shots just happen, we all do them sometimes!--You do such a great Job with Maggie, not to worry, you are doing great! Many Hugs & Look she is coming down already!! Hugs & Lubs from us!

Hi Roni, thanks so much; yes I think there are 5 drops in the syringe, so i shoot out 4 and the last one is for Maggie. No, I didn't think I smelled any juice on Maggie. I was sorry I hurt her. She is also flinching with the ear pokes, so I can give her a little break with this 134 bg. She was so hungry after the 93 bg that she had two lunches :smile: Now I can leave and do a few things and meet up with a friend later.

Wow no kidding that is a small dose, even if you did give a fur shot i'm sure it would be hard to smell insulin on her fur. But she went down today to greens so looks like it was a good shot!

This is the lowest PMPS Maggie has had in the last five days, so I'll go with the flow here!
Hi Tracy, I know it is a low dose and I was thinking of upping it to two drops, but I really feel the FF Chicken Feast is giving her a small spike. I'm still working on Wellness for her.

Be back later to visit condos. I'm kitty sitting my next door neighbor's kitty.
 
Hi guys!! nice cycle for Maggie today. I am in awe of those of you that have to measure doses by drops... omg... I am so bad at micro-dosing. I'm glad that you have found a way that works better, and is easier.
