We just started last night and unfortunately I have to work so I can't check her BG until it's time for her evening shot. I'm nervous about leaving her here by herself all day. What are the chances of her having problems today while I'm gone?

I think I updated her spreadsheet right.

Being nervous with starting this dance makes perfect sense. It takes about a week for Lantus to build it's "shed." You might not see much change for 5 - 7 days. (But this is an ECID -- every cat is different -- issue.) Your spreadsheet (SS) looks fine.

Thanks, I didn't know it took a week that actually helped me not be so nervous.

We've been down this road once before so I'm not near as worried as before but I just hate that I work such long hours and can't check on her during the day

Hi guys .. Glad to hear you are less nervous now .. it has to be scary leaving the kitties to go to work .. At least this is somewhat familiar to you now .. and don't take this the wrong way, but hopefully you won't be here long :-D have a great day!

LOL nope not at all, I'm hoping I wont be here long at all

Anyone have an idea on how long they think we will be here?

She was on insulin for 6 weeks the first time around BUT she had been diabetic for a while before I took her in and got a diagnosis. I'd say this time her BG has been elevated since August 1st.

I'm also in a much better position now because my father is on the same insulin so every once in a while he can 'lose' a half empty pen, rather than me pay 200 bucks for 5 pens
