Well, the antibiotic was the key to this issue. She is eating, drinking, running around, scratching the carpets and being her usual self. She has not had insulin now for 36 hours and since the Anti-b got on board she has been steadily going down in BG on her own.

Next time I sure wont be passive when I KNOW she had a fever. Her ears were super warm, and she bled like crazy when I tested her... its a crime scene on her testing spot. She climbed into bed with me last night and stayed for hours. That has also been absent while she was sick.

So... moral of the story.... An infection, even one that is not obvious, can drive the BG up 200 points really easily. Treat the infection and back down it comes.

For this reason alone I would caution anyone who has a cat that is put on antibiotics to be really careful about testing, because she sure has come down to normal ranges very very quickly. Had I given even that drop of insulin she might have been in hypo territory really quick.
