Yesterday was a decent day for Mannie, but the greens remain elusive. We had some great blues, but just couldn't find the green lagoon. It looks like his nadir has shifted again too, now somewhere around +5, rather than the +6, sometimes +7 that it used to be. So Mannie.... all looks great and all, but ya know, the lack of greens is what dosecreases are made of. uhhhhhhh... you wanna rethink this, maybe? Lubs ya big, guy - you can do it. Think GREEN! cat_pet_icon

Today is vet day - for all the troops. :? :? Annual senior exams, plus Blood Work, etc... and the dreaded urinalysis. Please kitties of mine, hold it so they can get a sample, please don't pee all over the vet techs or in your carrier or on the exam table... OK? :razz: Be good kitties and your bean will give you wonderful kitty treats when you get home. :cool: :cool: Paws crossed that no one needs a dental... but I just know Mannie is a prime candidate for that little item. :roll: :? well, oh boy! I can hardly wait to pack them all up in their carriers, be read the riot act by all of them on the trip up to the vet, and look at those petrified faces. So: here's hoping for good exams. I will get Mannie's BG before we go, and when we return home. I will also take his SS with me, and once again probably get the food lecture on how wonderful MD is, and why do I not feed that. uh noooooooooooo. not gonna happen. so - wish me luck! :razz: :razz:

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D :razz: What a three ring circus this morning, complete with high wire acts, clowns, and wild animals! :lol: :lol: First it was the kitty choir. :shock: BJ's bellows were off the charts. :o The back up singers all made it today - their vocals were louder than BJ's. :roll: Sure got my attention, that and BJ's claws. Today she seemed to feel that I needed them in my shoulder, as I just wasn't quick enough to get out of bed. shesshhhhh! By the time I get upstairs Elsa is jumping from counter to counter :o in search of anything to eat. Mannie is doing the fuds dance on the table, and BJ is wearing a circle pattern in the kitchen floor. :lol: :lol: and then the war started... just not a mini whack-a-thon, an all out war. Everybody was whacking everybody. :lol: :lol: :lol: I stood there for a few moments and watch this circus perform. :roll: :roll: :roll: :lol: At this point I decided it was best to feed them... they had earned their keep. :razz: We had a great test feed shoot today. Breffis consumed with gusto, seconds wanted by everyone. Clean plate club status remains intact. All now are napping, all this mornings antics a distant memory. Normalcy in Mannieland. :-D :cool: :cool: :razz: :razz: :razz:

Have a great day everyone! I am off in a few to have breffis with my eldest son - YAY!! So looking forward to that. Vetty appt is shortly after that. Cleaning on the agenda for the afternoon. oh yay (ppffhhhhttttt on the cleaning!).

My friends!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That cage thingie is out...... OH NO!!!!! I think I hafta go to the vetty....... I'm not sure, but I think that thing is for me. SAVE ME!! I wonder where I can hide... she always finds me though..... oh no. well OK, guess I better suck it up and be a brave kitty. My sisters will be so scared, so I think I will help them out, ya know? Wow! Good luck on the vetty visit. You are a brave soul to take them all at once. Ours go one at a time. Sending positive thoughts for you and all your babies that everything will go smoothly.

Uh oh Mannie. Dude, that cage thingy is never a good sign. Try under the bed right inthe middle. My bean can't reach me there without her face turning red and a lot of words I don't understand. You're right though. Your sisters need you to be the strong one so maybe you should just walk right into the cage and your bean will probably faint. When you gets back we will take you and get that vetty smell off of you. Let's go on a roadtrip and see all our friends. Tarragon

uh oh, Mannie.....the cage thing is always a bad sign. I can never find a place to hide....my bean ALWAYS finds me :sad: Be brave for your sisters....I agree with Tarragon...wanna see the bean faint? Hi Michelle, oh my gosh, all three to the Vetty! Is anyone helping you? I have trouble with just one. Good luck at the Vet and I hope Mannie's teeth are okay. I know I'm always nervous about Mags needing a dental. Your condo is always so fun and a crack up with the kitty choir and whacking. Mannie come on down to the blue floor with Maggie. Enjoy breakfast with DS, sounds like a nice time.

Hey Mannie, be brave today and strong for your sisters, too! After you get back, we'll do a road trip and something fun to get all the Vetty smell off you, okay. Hang in there and see ya soon, Maggie

Hi Ann, and Miss Maggie - Nope, just me... I have it down to a science - I can get them all loaded up (in teh garage) and none of the others are the wiser. One at a time out to teh car. Save Mannie for the last, as he sends out the telepathic alarm... :lol: :lol: and thx - breffis was great!

Hi Devon - Oh too funny on your troops - I get that too. Mannie is the LB one, BJ is the foamer, Elsa is the nervous panting howling Nellie. Always such fun. And THX - breffis was great!

cat(2)_steam cat(2)_steam ooooooooooooooooooo I am so mad.... I had to go to the vetty, my bean said it was for my own good. confused_cat HUH???? It was so horrible.... first they stuck this long thing in my personal space, ya know, a place where no one should be poking ANYTHING! and then they muttered something about "normal". Of course temp's normal - I could have told them that! and THEN they messed with my eyes . :-x I never knew my eye lids could stretch that far :o ... man you could see the whites ya know?: really freaky! and THEN they stuck my on this Cold scale, said my weight was ok, but I need a diet. :lol: :lol: :shock: uh noooooooooooooo, the Manster does not diet. and THEN they pried open my mouth. I tried and tried to keep my mouth closed but nooooooooooooooooo. that vetty had a vice grip, ya know? she muttered something like oh oh! needs a dental. :o nooooooooooooooooo.... my toothies are just fine, thank you very much. and THEN they poked on my belly over and over, muttered something about how there has to be a bladder in there somewhere. :shock: well duh..... and THEN they puled my ears. OW! and THEN i had to go into the "back room". oh oh. you never want to go in the back room, ya know? :? :? :? and THEN they stuck my with this long needle, and took ALOT of my blood. I protested alot cuz well that's my blood and I need every drop of it, ya know? and THEN they wanted my pee. HEEHEEEHEE - I didn't give them a drop, i think.... I dunno.... And THEN they took me back to my bean. I was so mad :evil: :evil: that I peed all over their floor. take that! And now I SMELL REAL BAD!!! euwwwwww...... nasty vetty smell... so went by day at the vetty. I so need a day with my friends! See you guys! ~~ Mannie


178 @ +7, after vet visit. Hmmmmm... not much of an increase after the vet. impressive.... Well, we are back. Mannie did fine. :-D Thought I am sure he has a different opinion. :lol: Everything checked out OK - except for the teeth . :YMSIGH: needs another dental, the tartar is rather extensive, but no gum inflammation or sign of any bad teeth, so better there than expected. And hey!! He lost a little weight. YAY!!! 14.3, down from 14.9. The civvies did OK too. BJ has a small cysts near her eye, no major concern for now. She too needs a dental: tartar and red gums. Elsa did OK. Needs a dental there too. She also has a small growth on her lip, looks like a cyst, but the vet wants to be sure that it isn't cancer. so... when she has he dental they will remove it, and see what is what at that point. They also did film on her - just for back up for the cyst, in case it proves to be something else. I had to laugh though. In her younger years Elsa was a master hunter - always brought home her catch, daily, I thought she had stopped, as things ceased to be coming home... apparently not, as the abdominal film showed evident of small critter bones, etc... Way to go Elsa. SO.... looks like dentals on the horizon, and hopes that elsa's growth proves to be nothing, and that all BW and urinalyses come back A-OK.

I swear, Michelle...you could make a fortune writing kids' books about Mannie, Elsa, and BJ. Seriously!!! What a crackup from the circus to the whackathon to the vet visit. You are one brave woman for taking all three at a time. Bummer on the dentals, though. We have two coming up...Tobes and Gus.

Mannie...we bring you KTSS but Tobes said he's not giving you a massage until your bean gives you a bath!!!! Then we can all go play!! It's warm here again today and daddybean is home!!!

Glad you made it back and there were no complications. Dentals on all 3. Wow! I am dreading a dental on 1. :smile: Sending good thoughts for Elsa's growth.

You deserve a great big reward for being such a wonderful mama bean today.



Mannie - ohhhhh noooooo buddy! They did what to you where? Dude. That is so not cool. Your toothies look fine to me and lose weight??? uhhhhh you are so skinny I can hardly see you now. The "back room" can not even be mentioned. i have nightmares about the back room. Way to hold out on them though. We are on our way. You will be fixed up in no time. - Tarragon

Michelle, so glad you made it in one piece back from the Vet and Mannie and his sisters. You really should consider getting into writing kids' books. I'll be interested in the cyst on Ella's mouth, as my neighbor's kitty has one, too, but it doesn't seem to bother her appetite. Hoping it is just a cyst and nothing serious. It sounds like all three really had a good check-up.

Mannie, I will bring you some kitty ice cream just for putting up with all the things the Vet did to you today. And a dental, nah, take it from me, you don't want one of those things. Just tell the nice Vetty to shove it for now! And the Vet stuck a needle up your uh ...hmmm. See ya soon Mannie after you take that bath, Luvs, Maggie :lol:

Hi Marje - do you believe that BG? not the best, but so farm, no spike... wow, and impressive. He was so "mad", kept meowing and prancing the whole time - walked all over the place. Sheshhhh - I forgot to mention: at one point the Doc had to go to the front room, opens the door, and Mannie see a window of opportunity and bolts through the door... :shock: :shock: he knew the front room = escape. good thing that the vet and the bean were just as fast, nabbed him by the scruff. :lol: :lol: and yeah on the dentals... sheshhh!

Hi Melissa - OOOOOOOOOOOOO on the margarita!! YAY, down the hatch already! :lol: :lol: yeah... not looking forward to the dentals, especially three of them. and thx on elsa's growth. It really looks like cyst, but due to the location the vet wants to be sure.

Hi Ann - yep, we survived - and hour and a half there... very very patient kitties. Thought about half way through Mannie had had enough. the meowing started, and then the nervous panting. :lol: He so wanted to be home. he did well though. I will post Elsa's info when I get that part done - won't be until I do her dental though. I hope it is nothing, but the vet wants to check it out, as I hear cats are susceptible to some form of mouth cancer?? Dunno.... BJ is prone to cysts - we've dealt with them over and over again... we check them out, and have come to the conclusion she is prone to grow them. oh goodie....

Very nice numbers considering the stress and indignity that Mannie went through today (at least in his opinion). Your writing is so hilarious -- sounds like we all agree that a book is in the future for you. You will have plenty of readers here. Too bad on all the dentals..ouch on the cost!

Mannie! Dudes your vetty has a backroom? Thatz not funz. My beanz found a vetty that doesn't believes in backroomz. She sayz if I ever needs a dental, whatever that is, she is gonna be right there with me. We bringing some of my waterless bath stuffs for you to clean ups with. It is all nice and makes you fursz real soft. Oh...and youz wil smellz real nice too. ~~Attie

Hi Georgia - surprising isn't it? All that stress while there, he was a little up-tight, and it really didn't effect his BG too much. oh yeah on the dentals, and the cost :shock: :roll: :roll: ... today was bad enough, as they all got senior wellness packages: ouch!

Hi Beth - yep, all three! It's not too bad, but you spend alot of time there, and the others wait while one gets the once over. They allo handled the wait OK, they could be with each other so maybe that helped... yeah I know on the dentals... Mannie was a given - he always ends up going twice a year, well about every 9 months... the other two I was hoping maybe not, but well.... not so lucky this time. I worry about the 18 year old though... well, need to think on this some, plan it out.

Attie!!! DUDE!!! :shock: no back room?!?!?!? where is this vet, and sign me up! that would be so cool.... wow, your bean can be with you?????? that's what I want!! I may have to move to Ohio! hey thanks on that bath stuff - waterless???? where you get that stuff? My bean says that would be so good for my sisters. i think I will like that stuff - and I will smell real nice too? it's not lavender is it???? My bean washed me with lavender soap once - sheshhhhh! Yo Mannie, I can't believe you had to go through all that today. I hope your coat is back to normal by now. How awful it must have been!! My mamabean says I will be going to visit a new vetty soon, and that she's really nice. I'll hold my opinion until after my visit. You got any secrets for dealing with a vet?

Oh boy!!! You've have one heck of a day!!! I love the blue surf Mannie has give you, even with the vet visit!!! He's a pro at this!!! It's Champ's turn at the vet on Friday...I don't like where he's going these days and I figure I might as well get a dental done in case that's the problem.

I hope all the kitties got their whack attack out of their systems and you have a relatively peaceful rest of the week!!!

Hi Ella - yeah, actually it has been a fun day. This morning was just a circus, and the vet is the vet... they did OK. Mannie is so stoked that the KTSS will take care of his sisters too. Elsa is a bit under the weather, vaccines affect her more than the others - she sleeps alot, always has after a vetty trip. And an affirmative on kitty ice cream for everyone!

Hi Bev - yep, the two boys know how to deal with BG numbers on vetty day. GO GUYS! such an affirmative on the fuds.

Hi patty - nice on the surf, huh... even after the vet! I remember once a while back he was at 85 before we went, and tested a 65 when we got home. :shock: :lol: :lol: no vetty stress for that boy... good luck with Champ on Friday. and the dental. I balk at them, but they really do make a difference in their numbers. At least it did for Mannie. Big change after his dental this past January. and yes - no PM whacking,. They are all zonked out after today. Mannie is pretty normal, the other two are sound asleep.

Hi Roni - yep, all three at once. I have the system down.... the hardest part is rounding them up and getting them in the carriers. Piece of cake: load in the garage , out to the car, back in the house for the next one... this way no one has the chance to sound the kitty alarm and send the rest into hiding... works great. Once there they just look petrified, but stay in their carrier until it's their turn, Such good kitties! -- and yes on the pee thing. his time Mannie just peed all over their floor. :roll: :lol: :lol:

What a day and I missed it all! :shock: Poor Mannie another dental? I was really happy and surprised last January when they said Tess's teeth were fine. Usually it's every year. Brushing does help. but I've notice some tartar lately. I really need to get better about doing it every day. Paws crossed that the cyst on Elsa's lip is just a cyst. I hope you really did get that margarita! You deserve it! And no house cleaning done either, you had enough today!

Hi Ann - :lol: :lol: no worries.... and yes, another dental - we just did this in January!!!!! .... I really do need to brush his teeth. He simply does not like anyone messing with his mouth... those bites are brutal and the claws very sharp :lol: :lol: I've tried the food additives, and the rinses, but they don't seem to help much, Brushing is really what is needed. well, maybe after this cleaning we will try again. and I know on elsa - I think it is, as this is not a new growth, but it is a bit bigger than in the past. so.... check it out we shall. **heavy sigh** and affirmative on the margarita - even though it was all in my head, it tasted great! - imagination is so great sometimes! :lol: :lol: and NO on the cleaning!! I vacuumed and said forget the rest... :cool:

Hi Marje - yep, all recovered I think. The kitties are all a little zonked. To be expected after vaccines and the vet trip. They all ate well, then went back to bed... smart kitties! me to on the blue surfin' in LL! always a good thing!
