Hey everybody! I know it's been awhile since I posted but had a few spare minutes tonight and wanted to let you all know how Garfield is doing!
As we knew it would, the Depo Medrol he had to have to save his life after a severe asthma attack threw him out of remission, but I still hold out hope that at some point, he may be able to get back into remission! NEVER GIVE UP!!!
He's really doing great though. If it weren't for 3 tests in the last 7 days, he'd earn a reduction for staying in normal numbers for 7 days!
I also keep thinking that one of these days, he's going to drop under 50, but since he's a long-term diabetic, he'd need to do that three times. He is definitely his own cat, though! He drops quickly and then just kind of surfs until the next shot time. It's totally different from what I was used to with China!
He is like China in one way though....he comes and gets me if his BG drops a little too fast. Very handy trait to have!
Still hoping for him to go back into remission, but I adopted him as a diabetic cat and I don't really care if he stays diabetic the rest of his life either. All part of the deal!
He has claimed this box. It was funny! It was sitting upright next to a chair so a friend that always needs boxes could take it, but Garfield had other ideas! He stood up on his rear paws, put a front paw on the top flap and pushed the box over....and then crawled in!

Hope you're all doing well (and your kitties too!)
His spreadsheet is up to date if you want to see how he's been doing!
