Cautiously optimistic that this dose might make her move a little bit. +5 is the lowest she has been during a day cycle since that freak accident yellow 298 on her first day of treatment.

@Wendy&Neko - Is it worth getting a +7 or 8? Or just wait until PMPS?

I wouldn't bother with another test, unless you are curious. She's dropped about 50 points in 3 hours, so it's not like she's dropping fast. Cats don't drop by even rates per hour, but it doesn't seem to me like it's a big drop happening.

I'll definitely leave her alone then. As she is feeling a bit more energetic she can be a bit fussier about her ears, so might as well not test unecessarily.
I'm saving my poking points for when she actually goes down a significant amount

What would you say is a good indicator of an active cycle? Something like 50 points an hour? I'm just trying to get my bearings about what a +2 or 3 would look like at the right dose instead of pestering you every day haha.

I'd say that if the +2 or +3 is down at least 15-20% from preshot, get another test. It's still a little early to figure out how Chewie uses Lantus to get clearer than that. Once her spreadsheet starts getting some more colours in it, patterns will start to appear.

Had to poke her FOUR TIMES tonight... first two way too small, third time was perfect but as I reached for the meter she thought I had her treat and she SMACKED IT right out of my hand!!
French cursing ensued, but we finally got the fourth one right. Phew.
