So we had a little bit of spit up again this morning. It has been MONTHS she she's had spit up, much less spit up 2 days in a row. As of yesterday, it had been 3 days since I stopped the "every other day" dosing of the cerenia. Any time I've tried to stop the cerenia, this seems to be the pattern...within 2-3 days I see morning spit up. I waited it out after yesterday, just to see if it was a random isolated incident, but after it happening again this morning, I added the cerenia back in...she had been feeling so very good for quite a while there while the cerenia was in the mix, so I just can't take the risk or her back-sliding into feeling yucky again. So, cerenia every other day it is. Our vetty had told us a while back that it was OK to dose it every other day if needed, but I will re-discuss it with her soon anyway. Removing cerenia from the mix a few days ago was the only change I had made...food the same, fluids the same, pepcid the same, routine the same....
BTW, her last mini-meal before I turned in was at 12:30am...4.5 hours before the morning spit up. I know they digest pretty quickly, but I don't think it was a seriously empty tummy issue, especially since she does go longer than that without food on days that I work and doesn't spit up then as long as I don't stray from her usual med routine.
If morning spit up wasn't bad enough, I also had a really hard time with the gelcap this morning, which also hasn't happened in a while. I had to refill it 3 times because the capsules kept starting to melt, and she even hissed at me - twice! Ugh, what a rough, crappy start to our day. I was trying to get the meds into her about 15 minutes early, just to make ME feel better that she her pepcid and cerenia would be in there settling her, and we ended up getting it down at her normal time anyway  .
Despite the spit up, she did plow through her first mini-breffis quite normally - that was before the meds but shortly after the spit up. And I am pleased with her AMBG.
DH and I are going out to lunch with my parents, my brother, and his wife. There's a tavern that my parents, brother, and his wife often meet at that has 75 cent martinis on Sundays. DH and I have never gone (I usually work Sundays), so this will be our first time. I've never had a martini in my life, but the idea of a 75 cent martini takes me back to my college days, so I think today will be my first! My Dad continues to feel perfectly fine except being a bit tired...it's still so hard to believe that he has going on what he does....it feels like our second opinion visit at Penn is forever away.....
With the martini(s) on board, I may be snoozing the afternoon away...sending out TONS of prayers to Mariko and her sweet Lucy today, as well as my entire LL family....
