First off..note to self. Always put cap on needle after shooting. Ouch...first time I jabbed myself with the insulin needle. DOH!

bumped her up to 1.5 this morning as recommended. I will be worrying all day while at work today...for nothing I know...but I still will be.

Othewise, she is doing well. Easting and all the Ps but playing...but hey..since mom is rationing her Adequan....times are tougher. I "might have 3 doses left in the expired vial. Vet says...use it anyway....though I can probably make a mint of ebay lol Darn why didn't I buy that vial when I should have. That will teach me!

I just posted this in your condo from Friday.
I don't know that I would have been quite so fast to increase.

Janet -- If this were my kitty, I would have gotten another test after your +3 last night. It's very possible that Izzy dropped into greens last night. Many cats run in lower numbers at night and in the absence of more information, I'd rather see if you can grab a couple of tests tonight and tomorrow before deciding on whether to increase. Since you already did increase, please try to get some additional tests tonight and tomorrow.

I mentioned this in the thread regarding the short supply of Adequan. You might want to check with a compounding pharmacy to see if they can make it for you.

Hi Sienne,

You must have posted that after I read Deb's comment. Tomorrow all day testing is not an issue. It IS my one and only day off during the week. I had planned on a late night test but qutie frankly I slept through it. I'm exhausting.

Staying up to get a +4 at night has me heading to bed around 10:30 and I am up by 4:45-5 am. That is just not enough sleep for me lol and by the end of the week i'm dead on my feet. I will get a +2 here shortly then I'm off to work and won't be home until it is time for her pm shoot.

her +2 is 116...now I am going to be worried all day! We are a LONG way from +6 and I won't be home to test. Dang it. I should have waited I until tonight. I'm going freaking out.

any suggestings on what foods to pick up for her emergency hypo kit that do not contain corn, wheat or soy....since she has reactions to those foods?

You could add a drop or two of honey to her low carb food to boost the carb content.

I'm at work so I will just hope for the best. I have one hour between shifts a 2 where iI can run home and check

See that Izzy had a +6 or 149 today. She's still surfing along in those nice blue numbers.

Would you give me an idea of the foods you are currently feeding her? Maybe can come up with something similar that is higher in carbs for you.

That should be a +7. I was in a hurry since I am 40 minutes just to commute back and forth. She mainly east Fancy feast classics pate, Sheba pate, occasionally friskies pate and I have some clearances out old recipe befor grain + some of the other flavors they clearances due to formula change.

Finding a high carb food with no corn, wheat or soy is a tough one. All the Fancy Feast and Friskies flavors that say sauce, broth, gravy on the label have one or more of these ingredients.

Some of the Iams Proactive Health flavors look like they are higher carb, 13-14% with no corn, wheat, or soy. Like Iams Proactive Health Adult Chicken and Liver flavor (14% carbs). It does have rice in it. Is Izzy ok with rice?
Iams Proactive Health Adult pate with Lamb & Rice (19% carbs).

Natural Balance Chicken and Green Pea L.I.D. no grains, 13% carb, Duck and Green Pea L.I.D. 16% carb. Their Ultra line has rice in it if rice is ok with Izzy.

What are her favorite types of flavors? Chicken/turkey, fishy, beef, etc.

Usually chicken, beef and fish. Not a huge fan of tuna though. Ok my 2nd shift is at a Petco so I will pick up a few for our emergency kit.

clearly my stupid schedule is not great on consistency. I drove straight home and didn't get home til 7:25. took her BG and then got her dinner ready and didn't get to shoot her until 7:40. Her morning shot was at 7:10 and I was hoping to get her pm shot in by 7:25. Clearly that is not doable.

Janet --

If you are within 30 min. of your shot time, it's fine. 30 min. or less isn't likely to have an effect on Izzy's numbers.
