Happy Friday, FD Friends!

Glad I can work from home today given Trixie's AMPS. Been doing lots of experiments with food and feeding times over the last few days to try to avoid big dips and keep her coasting safely. I've been able to manage with only LC so far and she has been very happy with all the new flavors. :D Finding the perfect balance between food and insulin can be such a challenge and what works one day doesn't necessarily work the next. Just keep telling myself, "I'm doing my best".

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and that all kitties have a calm and safe surf 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️🌊🏖️

Wow! You're managing those lower numbers with LC? That's great! LC doesn't bump Jude up much at all, if any, when he's in the 50s. He's a good grazer and eats (LC) a lot between shot and +3, but despite that eating, he still drops in the pm cycle. Last night I did a little hc/lc combo, and that got him up over his drop to 54, but not too high.

Her amps was excellent, and she's surfing well so far--I'm glad you're there to monitor.

Have a lovely weekend!

Thank you, Mary. Trixie is quite carb sensitive; she has been mostly on very low carb (~1-2%) food. By mixing in a small amount of 4-5% at breakfast time and for her +2 snack it seems to keep her pretty even. Then I give her the 1.5% carbs for the rest of her snacks.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well!

It’s so interesting how they are all different with carb sensitivity!
Ivy needs big HC guns to slow her down!

It is interesting, Staci 🤔 I don't think I have ever had to use anything above 9% for Trixie. I have lots of different types of MC and HC in case of an emergency but thankfully I haven't had to deploy the big guns yet.
Wow. Very interesting.
I just gave Ivy 9% dinner since we are headed out to dinner tonight and I wanted to give her a tiny little bump or just keep her from dipping while I’m out.
She probably doesn’t need it since she’s very high right now, but I always do it as an insurance policy just to keep her safe.
And since I make her food, I have a recipe that is supposedly 25% carbs, but when she is in a diving cycle, it barely even moves the needle. It may hold her steady, but it won’t bump her up generally.
And I do think it has something to do with the fact that it’s very clean carbs and clean food that I feed her (because there’s no preservatives there’s no starches or tapioca) or anything like that in there. So it seems like it’s not a true 25% carb like a commercial canned food would be.
If I really need to pull her up, I will give her a teaspoon at a time of Friskies canned (a savory formula I think) and that may pull her up a bit and then she’ll dive back down again. 🤷‍♀️
