It's been a pretty straightforward morning for Trixie. Hubby took over +2 and +4.5, so I actually got to go BTB till almost 10:30...so that's what it feels like to sleep! Still need some .

As for Irene, we got lots and lots and lots of rain here. We've got a pretty good drainage system around the house, but a little is still coming in the basement, so hubby has the shop vac set up to suck it up and pump it out. Lovely sound to wake up to! Either the rain was just so loud, or we didn't get all that much wind...I'm thinking it's both. There are just a few smaller branches down around our house - nothing worth writing home about. The power just flickered af few times last night, but never went out. I was so relieved to not have to try and test/feed/shoot without power! So all in all, we were definitely lucky this time!

I hope everyone else in Irene's path is safe and sound.

Lovely #s today, despite the storm. I'm hoping that you folks can get your basement cleared up quickly to avoid further damage to your home. Try and have a good day, guys. I'm glad that you're all safe over there.

Clearly Trixie isn't bothered by the storm. Great start for today!

Testing without power is not fun. I had to do it once. I don't recommend it.

Hi Amy,

Nice that you your hubby is on board with testing Trixie. It comes in handy for times like btb too. :smile: Trixie's looking great.

We got a lot of rain and wind from Irene. It's starting to slow down now. We didn't lose power but all of my family members did. So far I've been lucky. Glad that it didn't cause as much damage as it could have. Of course that would be a different story if you live near the ocean. :-| Hoping those folks are alright.

What a nice day for Tixie even with all the rain and shop vac noises! I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to wake at 10:30 -- maybe one of these days! Glad to hear that you were ok last night and that you do not have too many problems to deal with. And yay on electricity staying on!

I'm glad everything is okay. And Trixie's numbers look good
We had about the same. Small branches and a bunch of leaves and such down, and some rain (I don't know how many inches) and some wind. This was my only day to sleep in this week, and I just couldn't ohmygod_smile I'm glad you got some rest.

aren't shop vacs fabulous!? our hot water heater leaked a few years ago and we had a lake in the basement, smack in the middle of the carpet - probably 7' across. shop vac'd the water out, blew a fan under the carpet (lifted up) and then retacked the carpet. all survived. another time i spilled an entire paint tray FULL of paint on the carpet. shop vac to the rescue.

can i sell anyone a shop vac? :lol:

glad you made it through the storm without anything significant going on! trixie's numbers seem completely un-phased by it!

Thank you, everyone! Considering the forecasts, we really lucked out. The winds did pick up on the afternoon today, but we were still very fortunate. It does look like the Delaware will do some serious flooding tomorrow, though. We're not all close enough for that to be a problem for us, but I hope and pray that the folks along ther river are OK.

Trixie managed to get a few good bites of kibble somewhere around +1 tonight...I'm guessing that's why her +2 isn't super-impressive. Could someone please convince the civvies that kibbles aren't the way to go? I've tried countless times and countless methods without success. Theres's a lot of power behind 6 cats!!
