Yesterday

Good evening, all.

We hope that everyone in Houston is OK tonight. My niece sent some horrific pictures of her neighborhood. Fortunately their house is on higher ground. My brother is OK, too. He is on the second floor of his building.

Rusty had a so-so day. His appetite was very poor, but perked up this evening. His breathing has been rough at times. This is Convenia Day 12. He went outside in the early evening and was spooked by the birds, who were making a fuss. We don't think it was over him, but there may have been an owl or other raptor overhead. Anyway, Rusty hid under the car! Edward went over to see him and he meowed loudly. Then they came inside. What a cat!

We did chores today and listened to the Lester Young birthday broadcast. Fantastic recordings.

so far all my relatives are fine, just my 1rst cousin has water in her bedroom, seeped in.... I think it's an inch ....
She thinks they will just have to re-do the floor....

I don't have the heart to tell her that she will have more than a re-do.... flooding usually brings mold.

Been watching the hurricane, which is getting stronger again. More prayers for all in Harvey's path.

Rusty's breathing is rougher tonight. We'll visit the vettybean tomorrow.
