Yesterday (and this morning) condo

Well that was stressful, but China's such a good kitty!! Since they couldn't tell me when mom's procedure was until early this morning, had to either shoot a number I would have rather stalled on, or skip, so I did the "in between" and gave a BCS! No way I could stay home to get a +2, so just had to do what I thought best (Thanks Sienne for the quick reply too!!)...Thank God for the spreadsheet and the knowledge it gives us!! I would have been freaking if I didn't know how she "usually" reacts and that she "usually" has a later nadir....and knowing her schedule was thrown off the other night added a little more drama since she hasn't been getting numbers I'd expect lately

BUT..China's a GOOD KITTY!! I caught myself petting and scritching her ears and saying "Good China..what a good kitty!!" ...I guess for not dropping too low and being half dead (or worse) when I finally got home to feed/test. The silly things we beans do :oops: cat_pet_icon

Anyway, I'm home for the day as long as there isn't any craziness at the hospital. Mom's making much better sense today after a night of hallucinating (they gave her some Phenergan for nausea and I guess it caused her to hallucinate...she was screaming that someone had let her dogs out and how were they ever going to get them back...nothing anyone could say to her would register, so we just had to let it wear off)

Tomorrow I have to try to get to the pain doctor appointment I missed last Thursday to get my morphine pump refilled...I can't wait any longer, so I'm hoping she continues to either be as good as she is this afternoon, or even improve

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday and after relaxing a little, I'll probably come visit some other condo's.

Good China..What a good kitty...LOL

Question.... Since I gave the BCS this morning, would I still want to wait the full 12 hours before giving her regular dose or can I move our schedule back a little more to where I want it?

How about a +10 and/or a +11 to give us some more clues before we give an answer on shooting early?

How much earlier do you need to move the PM shot?

I would like to get back on her old schedule of 6/6 but it's now 6:30pm (this morning was 7:30)

I'll grab a quick test to see where she's at...maybe move a little earlier tonight if she's ok and then keep adjusting down

Boing! I think you could shoot now and get back on schedule a bit faster.

If this were my cat, with numbers in the 200s, it's best to shoot no more than 30 min. early unless you are sure that numbers are heading upward. Please get a +2.

FYI - Phenergan can cause confusion and agitation especially in elderly individuals.

Yeah, I'd say that's the truth! I'm not sure why they chose to give her the Phenergan. They'd been giving her Zophran every 4 hours (it's usually every 6) and it'd been helping. I know she was still complaining of some nausea though, so I guess they thought they'd try it. We know better now! No more Phenergran for mom!! (another fact to add to my ever-growing list of mom's medical issues)

The +2 was 231, so almost flat from the PMPS, but I'll be testing again later. China tends to not pay a lot of attention to "the rules" of this dance.
