8/26 Pearl OTJ Trial Day 4 PMBG 86

Good morning! Yesterday was Pred day - Pearl's PM cycle looked just like it would have with insulin on board! She was PMBG 125, and 109 about 3 hours later - an asthma attack was even thrown in there! I was very nervous wondering whether the Pred would throw her body off or whether she would be able to get back down Green on her own this morning, but she made it!

So I think this is good yes, and I should just expect her Pred cycles to look the same on and off insulin? If so, this means on Pred days she will go up into blue a little bit for the PM cycle.

Sorry Pearl had an asthma attack. I hope she's better today. Glad her numbers came back down to green.

i think the asthma attack was my fault. I had gotten upset and was having a heated phone conversation which is uncommon. Pearl likes to have a go with the flow peaceful household staff and anxiety sets off those darned attacks

ahh, I hope you have a Peaceful day with Pearl. What you said makes sense, but I wonder about the lower pred dose, too. I have no experience with asthma; the thought just came!

Hi Jan!!

I experimented with lowering the Pred dose by 1/2 yesterday. Not sure if that contributed to the attack in some way - my gut is not, but time will tell on this dose. I did notice no difference in how high her BG went or how long it took to come back down, same as on the higher Pred dose (which I think is interesting). If the attacks continue I will have to go back up.
