Okay, I know this may be pretty stupid, but here goes -

We bought Miralax powder today to start Hershey on. I know he's supposed to get 1/16th tsp, but does that mean measure out 1/16th powder and add to (how much) water? Or, Doug is asking can we mix it according to the directions and give him 1/16 tsp each time. If so, will it get funny?

Signed -

Edited to make it today's condo:
8/24 Hershey

Kind of OT catch-up: When last we saw Hershey, he was enjoying some pretty greens at +8 on 8/24. Yesterday was a busy day and I was folding some clothes a co-worker of Doug's had sent to Ginnie. Oreo had a hairball near me and I know he's like a dog (nuf said) so ran to stop what I knew would happen. My right foot barely hit the floor, when my left touched down and promptly slipped out from under me. I gracefully sprawled out on my back and Doug came running. I was a little sore, but took a Tylenol and was thankful it wouldn't keep from Ginnie's baby shower. (2008 - When she got married, I had to miss both showers her mothers-in-law threw due to neck surgery. Did NOT want to miss another event!) I've not been 100% since whatever went wrong in my neck, so Doug was concerned that I may have hit my head. Honestly, it happened so fast I can't be sure. The shower was fun, as was cooking out at Ginnie's house afterward. (And, Jessica's pie was TASTY!)

Well - not sure what I did in the fall, but something isn't right in the neck/shoulder area. Doug is thinking maybe I tried to catch myself - who knows - again, it was fast. Anyhoo - I'm hoping my body is just angry about the incident and will have forgiven me by tomorrow. Doug is insistent I take something later to knock me out (and he'll handle kitty detail) hoping it'll right itself.

To help you make some sense out of Hershey's SS: The 20-hour cycle worked okay when we moved Joseph in, so we thought we'd do that again, yesterday. Actually, we had hoped that his numbers wouldn't be toooo bad when we got home and we could just do a 24-hour cycle and stay on schedule. Well, no such luck. Don't know if he ate his FF AND Oreo's we had in the auto-feeders; at any rate, he was (534) at +20 (I know, I'm a bad mom  .) so we went ahead and shot at 11:20pm. We were in church at 11:20am, so we delayed and shot at +15.5, putting us back on schedule. Well, at +15.5 he was (160) - go figure!

So, all is well in Hershey's world. Going to try to Miralax in 1.5 hours at mealtime. I'll let you know how it goes.

Have a great evening -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Re: ??? Miralax - Feeling Stupid

Hi Libby,

I never premixed it. I just do it as I need it. I mix 3 syringes of water with 1/4 tsp Miralax. You could do the same or a little less with 1/8. Stir it well and I syringe it but a lot of people mix it in food. Racci isn't a reliable eater though.

I hope it works well for you and Hershey feels better.

Re: Miralax - Feeling Stupid - Thanks!

I mix a good amount of water with Hershey's food, too, so I'll try adding the Miralax when he eats (in 2.5 hrs); I don't think he'll take a syringe from me. If that doesn't work, I'll let Doug try the syringe and we'll just schedule the doses around when Doug can do it, at least until Hershey gets used to it.

THANKS!

Libby (& an unsuspecting Hershey ;-) )

Re: 8/26 Hershey PMPS(160) at +15.5

Sounds like you took quite a spill there.
Instead of knocking yourself out, do you have a muscle relaxer instead?
You said the torque made you feel something wasn't right.
If you start tensing up, it will really not feel right. Better to relax so you don't wind up with 2 issues.

Re: 8/26 Hershey PMPS(160) at +15.5

Hershey seems to have recovered very nicely from his schedule adjustment. :-D We put 1/16t in a little bowl and add about a tablespoon of water, enough to dissolve the miralax. Then pour that on his food. I'm sorry about your fall - ouch. I hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Hey, Rhiannon - Yes, it was a smooth move. Felt like Dick Van Dyke or maybe a cartoon character slipping on a banana  Yes, we have muscle relaxers, too. We were debating which one to go with.

Hey, Liz - Maybe Hershey was sorry for making me feel like such a bad mom! I'm glad he's doing well so far...we'll see what tomorrow brings! :-D Thanks for the recovery wishes

Hershey did well with the Miralax mixed in his food. My biggest fear is that we'll mix it in and that will be the one time Oreo decides to eat it. He does NOT need Miralax! :o

+4.25 (106)
+5.5 (94) - fed + 1/16th tsp Miralax
+7 (103)

Well, (103) is almost green, so he's almost surfing green ;-)

wonderful numbers for Hershey! I see greens!! Sounds like the 20hour schedule thing worked out ok. Hershey sure is looking good tonight.

Hoping here that you are feeling better too.

Oh no, Libby!!!! I hope you start feeling better really, really, really soon!!!! That would be one of those falls that would cause me to wait for my chiropractor to open up his office the next day!

Geez, Hershey, you sure do have pretty numbers going right now! Very impressive! Sleep well and have a great day tomorrow!

Hershey is looking great.
I'm more worried about you, ya big klutz! Hope it's something that only hurts now and feels much better tomorrow, Libby.

(((Libby))) Sorry you fell! I did too a few days ago. Makes you feel like an idiot, doesn't it  Especially when technically there was nothing even *there* to trip over, like in my case!

Hope you feel better soon!!
Hugs
