Re: 8/26 Buddha AMPS 335 +3 393
I was a little surprised that the pharmacist didn't offer me a pen device when I asked for cartridges instead a vial, but I guess that is a separate prescription. The cartridges just look naked without a cover. Hopefully the pen won't look like something the kids want to play with.
Buddha was named, in part, because one of the cats he "replaced" (and by replaced I don't mean in my heart, there's no replacing a GA cat in my heart, but there does seem to be an emptiness about my house without a couple of cats underfoot) was named Loki. I loved Loki to pieces, and while it is entertaining to live with a mischievous diety, it's also rather exhausting. So I picked the Enlightened One as his successor thinking that we would live a quiet, contemplative life. But it hasn't exactly worked out the way I'd thought. My next set of cats (many, many years from now) will be called safe names like Whiskers or PawPaw.
We are well stocked with lancets, strips, Ketostix (a new box of Relion brand and many left of past prime Bayer brand -- do I really discard after box has been open 6 months?), fancy feast in low to high carb varieties, and there's always honey or maple syrup in the house.
DKA was before the switch from Vetsulin to ProZinc, late November last year. Buddha's never been regulated on ProZinc, numbers high or low or in between, but the Ketostix texts have never changed color. I can tell when Buddha has a couple of bad days in a row. I'm hoping it won't take long to fill his Lantus shed.
It's good to see other former PZI-ers doing so well. It gives me hope.
