Tyler took a day off of from the Pokey/Sticky routine to celebrate his success! Thank you everyone for all the help!

I have a question, do I continue to post here, or on a different thread? I hope everyone is having a great day!

Re: 8/25 Tyler PMBG 91 Do I still post on this thread?

Hi Brian - nice to see Tyler in the greens.  It's up to you what you want to do for posting. Most people with OTJ cats will post periodic updates here, or post more frequently if they have a concern. We do like to hear how the OTJ kitties are doing. One idea is to test daily for the next month and post here if you see an upwards trend in the numbers.

We like updates now and then. Once a LL kitty, always part of the LL family!

Good to see Tyler continuing to do ok.

On my way out the door, but I have to post quick. I've noticed a lack of poos in the box for three kitties! It is Tyler, I just caught him trying to go with no luck. What do I do? I can't afford a vet visit just yet?

You can add plain canned pumpkin to his food (NOT the pie filling!) A teaspoon to a table spoon mixed in his food, although some cats will eat it by itself. You can also use Miralax, start w/ 1/8th tsp once a day.

Hi Brian and Tyler!! I hope life OTJ is treating you well! Billie was constipated a while back and would not eat pumpkin. The vet said I could give her 1/2 a teaspoon of plain Vaseline, and that got things moving/lubricated. It turns out, some cats love the taste of Vaseline, and Billie just licked it right off a spoon.

butter is another greasy food that might help. some people put coconut oil or olive oil in the food.

once you're past this crisis, if you're not already adding water to his food, i'd do that. as much as he'll tolerate - maybe a tablespoon per meal if he'll eat it. Constipation and hairballs can both cause higher BGs in some cats - just a heads-up.

I have used the pumpkin mixed in to his wet food, by the next day he was good to go. But just to make sure I added the pumpkin for 3 days of meals.

Baby food squash is another option instead of pumpkin.

If Tyler is still constipated tomorrow, I'd get him in to the vet. The vet may suggest (or give him) an enema.
