Tonight will be the 6th cycle for Scully at the .75 U dose. If I don't see green tonight, I'm increasing her back up to 1 U. She successfully held the reduction to .75 U in July, but it's not looking good so far now. We're still not seeing any improvement in her neuropathy, and it's going on 5 months now that she's been on insulin and Zobaline. However, as her numbers show, she's not well-regulated yet, so I guess that's why we're not seeing any improvement. (sigh)
Mulder has done a complete 180-degree turn-around from Saturday! I am sooo happy to report that he grazed all day yesterday (I counted six meals!) and throughout the night (DH said he ate twice before he came to bed.) Today when I got home from work, I found both bowls just about empty. I let Mulder outside for about 15 minutes, then when he came in he sat where he eats (I was washing the bowls at the time) and demanded dinner, loudly. I was very happy to oblige!
I picked up both Mulder and Scully's lab results from the vet. Our vet uses a local lab called Clinilab in Valparaiso, IN. Here are his numbers:
Test Name Result Normal Range
ALB 3.7 2.5 3.9 g/dL
ALP 32 3 83 U/L
ALT 51 15 75 U/L
TBIL 0.1 0.0 0.8 mg/dL
CA 10.1 9.1 12.0 mg/dL
CHOL 169 50 275 mg/dL
CRE 2.8 0.7 1.8 mg/dL
GGT 0 0 6 U/L
GLU 107 70 150 mg/dL
PHOS 4.3 2.8 8.7 mg/dL
TP 7.0 6.2 8.0 g/dL
BUN 31 15 33 mg/dL
Na 158.9 145 162 mEq/L
K 7.45 3.7 5.8 mEq/L
GLOB 3.3 2.6 4.0 g/dL
A/G 1.12 .4 1.7
OSMO 321.6 285 301 mos/kg
NA/K 21 27 38
WBC 4.2 6 18
RBC 9.92 5.5 10
HGB 16.9 8 15
HCT 49.8 27 48
MCV 50.2 42 53
MCH 17 14 18
MCHC 33.9 30 37
PLT ADQ 150 700
Whoops! Got a little trigger-happy and submitted before I was finished. Sorry! Anyway, creatinine is high, but BUN is within the normal range. Also flagged for being high are "K" and "OSMO." NA/K is flagged for being low. Also, just to let you know, a urinalysis has not been done. Any and all information you can provide is much appreciated. If you have any questions or need additional information, please let me know.
Thank you so much for looking over Mulder's lab results!! Even though he's not a sugar kitty, I really am so grateful for all of the help and advice you all have given us. Every day I continue to be thankful for finding this board!
