Sending a great big thanks to Karrie and Maverick for sharing information about L-Lysine & dose. I upped Lanky's dose to 1/4 tsp (from 1/8 tsp) every 12 hours & observed immediate results. Vet was OK as the Lysine does not adversely impact the diabetes. So this morning, just slight congestion & runny nose & demeanor is sooooo much better. He even wanted to go out in the yard for a spin. I'll continue the L-Lysine until symptoms are completely gone. By the way, vet says Lanky is dealing with a herpes flare up which his had several years ago in his eye.

What an awesome update!!!! Woohoo.

I started Henry on it yesterday evening. He got his second dose this morning. I want to be posting exactly what you posted today soon.

Great news! Rusty is taking L-lysine, too. I will try upping the dose to 1/4 tsp. The smaller amount is working well, but maybe in this case more is better. With Rusty the congestion seems to be chronic. I will ask the vet about it when he goes in for his wellness exam. I wonder how long you can give L-lysine?
