Better start today! I'll take pink over red.

Jetta's getting a bit feisty with her injections. DH had to wrangle her into submission and she was hissing, spitting, and growling for last night's. I felt terrible for her. Anyway, got it after several pokes where she jumped away. The bad part is I'm on my own for the AM injections, and this morning she was headed down that path again... We had a serious conversation about her behavior (listen to me young lady!...) So I had to trap her in my knees. Thinking this is phase where she's tired of the pokes, and soon enough she'll just get used to it. Fingers crossed.

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Re: 8/25 Jetta AMPS 357

Pink is better than red anyday......but lets try for some yellow-blue and green!!! Jetta....ya gotta be a good kitty for mama....she's trying to help you feel better, OK??!!!!!

I am sorry you are having trouble shooting Jetta.....I had many "now listen here young lady" talks with Zoe when we were first learning how to do all of this (we still have them once in awhile). I found that shooting Zoe's insulin while she is eating really works well. Test her, feed her and while she is preoccupied with the yummy food in her dish....pull up the skin on her scruff/shoulder....shoot and done. She doesn't even flick an ear. Now she runs to her testing spot and shoot the insulin there or wherever she happens to be....she doesn't care. It will get easier. If some one had told me that my cat who is full of attitude about everything would willing come for her ear pokies and insulin shots, I would have told them they are crazy. But she does...and she purrs for each and every one.

Re: 8/25 Jetta AMPS 357 +2 -186

Hi guys .. so glad to see jetta kissed those reds goodbye .. and it looks like she has done the same to the pinks! That is quite a drop at +2 so make sure you keep your eyes on her .. as far as the shot situation, not much help here .. we fought mocha every single day at every shot .. right up till her last day on the juice! I hope your talks made a difference .. have a great day guys!

Please keep an eye on Jetta's numbers today. That's a big drop at +2. Usually, your +2 is about the same as your pre-shot. When you see this kind of drop, it can be a signal that it's going to be an active cycle.

I give Gabby her shot when her face is in her food. She doesn't seem to even notice the injection.

Re: 8/25 Jetta AMPS 357 +2 -186 +7 -68

Good afternoon all. I had appointments for work today so no numbers between +2 and +7. Got home at +6 in time to scoop Jetta up and rush to the vet. She got her 3rd in the series of B12 injections today. Also she got weighed. At the height of her "crash" she was down to 5.14 pounds. Today she weighed in at a hefty 6.10 GO JETTA!!! :RAHCAT

I'm getting really interested to know more about Jetta's +2 drops. I think this is the 4th day I've been told "boy that's a big drop at +2..." She drops after every shot really fast then seems to level. Is that unusual? Even given that ECID? She's eating great today, not real active, but purry and happy.

Glad to hear Jetta is packing on the poundage!

my cat was not an early dropper, however there are many folks here who are familiar with that pattern - hopefully they will chime in.

Regarding the shots, like Sherry & Zoe, we had to shoot Black Kitty while his face was in the food bowl. Worked like a charm - even during the period of time I was using 3 syringes each shot time (since his dose was so high, and my hands are not steady, It worked better/quicker if I split it up).

thanks Sandy. If she keeps being an early dropper I'll falg a post and see if I can get some comments.

Tonight's PMPS was higher than I thought it might be. Maybe that's why I do't play the lottery- I'm no good at guessing numbers.
