Sienne & Gabby said:One suggestion. If Jean Luc does bounce into high (over 300) numbers tomorrow, you can "shoot through the bounce." In other words, shoot the 1.75u and then take the reduction at the PM shot. By holding off on the reduction, you can help the bounce to clear.
So, you will want to reduce Jean Luc's dose. Lantus dosing is based on the lowest point in the cycle (the nadir), not on the pre-shot value. Jean Luc dropped below 50 yesterday so he gets the reduction. However, he bounced. You took the option of shooting through the bounce. I would reduce his dose this evening.Reducing the dose:
If kitty drops below 40 (long term diabetic) or 50 (newly diagnosed diabetic) reduce the dose by 0.25 unit. If kitty has a history of not holding reductions well or if reductions are close together... sneak the dose down by shaving the dose rather than reducing by a full quarter unit. Alternatively, at each newly reduced dose... try to make sure kitty maintains numbers in the normal range for seven days before reducing the dose further.
