i know this question is premature and hard to answer, but hoping with all your experience you can give me a little guidance.

2moro we're taking a group from the nursing home to the state fair. I plan to be gone from 10am +4 to 3pm +9. know it will depend on his numbers 2nite and tomorrow a.m. but i'm wondering if i need to try to sneak away and get a bg reading on him in that 5 hour period? i dont have a backup person here that can check him while im gone.

any thoughts?

Hopefully we'll see some action from this extra squirt of insulin in the next cycle or two. Go Binks!

Can't take credit for Donny's spiffy tuxedo. He looks a lot like his Dad, a handsome black and white Maine Coon. He inherited his Mom's ears though.... (Scottish Fold). Yeah, he was a major *whoops*, but he's one in a million and I was blessed to adopt him. Have I ever mentioned here that his Mom's name is Whoopi Foldberg? :mrgreen:

Mj- that is hilarious! My brother had a Scottish Fold named Taxi...they have such cool personalities. ive always thought i'd like to have one, but can's seem to get away from the manx or boxers(droolers who definitely earn the title)

binks seems to be feeling quite spunky and good...know its too early to really see results, but in the last week or so he has been more active than since dx and doesnt stop to rest his wonky legs nearly as often...i take that as a good sign. I still am carefully massaging front and back legs 4 times daily and every time he wants a cuddle.

binks ate pretty healthy portion at his pm shot...so maybe that is why he bumped up a bit...

still wondering if i need to sneak away from the fair group 2moro during our 5 hr trip to check on him, but im guessing that unless he is getting bg readings <200 it should be okay...

thoughts?

So far, I don't think you'll need to run home to test but a lot can change. I would certainly get a +2 and another test as late in the cycle as you can. If numbers are heading down rapidly, then you may want to come home to test.

thanks, Sienne...helps to have the benefit of the experience you guys have...although i wish nobody had to learn it the hard way!

when dealing with illness, i think we all wish that it was something we never had to be in the circumstances that cause us to get "an eddi-cation"

well, we had a yellow earlier...what is it that this boy doesnt like about that color? its much better than these pinks and reds.

wish i had never let him watch those fashion shows on the telly...
